Nice easy one lol
PC keeps hanging at this code and not booting, got it to boot once and flashed the bios to rule it out but no joy. Trying to sort out a psu but need to wrangle up a 4 pin to 8 pin plug for the cpu.
It's an Abit AB9 QuadGT motherboard, core 2 duo E6300 usually running at 2.6, 2 2 gig sticks of ddr 2 ram, nvidia GTX460 graphics, Creative extreme music sound card, 2 sata HD's and one DVD rw.
PSU is some jeantech thing, 650watt modular job.
Anyway any gurus got any other ideas?

Well that's a bummer, I've ruled out the psu, that means it's the main board or cpu, I suspect it'll be the board though.

Try swapping out the ram as that post code error can be caused by bad ram according to some folks on Hexus

It's not even getting as far as the ram, you can remove it all together and it's exactly the same. It usually stops at C1 if there's a ram issue. The monitor isn't coming on or anything, it's just not getting far enough through the POST to get anywhere.

Sounds like it will be the mobo, all my fans power up fine though and no speed changes at all if you press anywhere. Maybe I'll see about the chips, see if abit are still around and still have some.
No idea how you found that either, you must be like a google zen master lol

Well I managed to get a board off a friend, he had some crappy asrock thing knocking about so I'm up and running thankfully. I was using a little netbook but really hate it lol.
I'm going to see if I can contact abit about the bios chip/chips.

Yeh socket 775, I want the best most overclockable and I want it for pennies lol.
That's the thing with that abit board, I could push the cpu hard and no errors at all, not even a glitch. I'm definitely going to contact abit though, they're bound to have a stock pile of these chips seeing as they stuck them in so many boards, newer ones too and there's a number of them all having the same issue.

The temps were always good, loads of fans too, big ones. It also booted up a couple of times and ran sweet, it's just booting it struggles with.
I'm using a zigmatek case with the psu on the bottom and a massive fan up top, one 120 at the front and one at the rear and a 120 on the cpu.
