The last 2 methods you can forget. Where in the hell would I find a bottle shaped with a neck like that, and if I put out a container to catch the rainwater I'd be waiting one hell of a long time here The 1st method does at least seem feasible, so thanks for that, but I am going for the simple method of boiling up bottled water like Perpetua suggested. But thanks for the link and the laugh, can't stop thinking about the method for catching rain over here in Tenerife, that container would be outside for years before it had enough water in it, oh my god, I have tears running down my face now.

Took me ten minutes (1st method) obviously.
I must have a grey cloud following me around, because, when I took the family to Playa Blanca, all it did was rain for the first three days. Having said that, it was 28-30 degree's for the rest of the time we were there.

Oh, so now I know who to blame when I saw that wet stuff descending from our 'normally clear blue skies', so this one's for you

A year round temp of 22 degrees would suit me, just warm enough so that I can shed a few layers, down to one hoody, yet not too warm to do anything, it can rain - hell we need it apparently - a couple of weeks at xmas time would be fine . I would go away to warmer climes then of about 30 degrees. I think I was a lizard in a past life.

A very easy way to distill some water at home that i've done in the past is boil a large pan of drinking water with a container placed in the water (bowl), put the lid on the pan upside down with handle inwards. The water will boil, steam collect on the lid and drip into the bowl. Obviously make sure everything is cleaned well beforehand. You'll easily and quickly make the 100ml or so you need.

I'm not disputing what you say at all, please don't think so - but if the pan is not totally sterile, or the lid/ or the bowl isn't etc you can see where I am going with this. I would like to think I could buy something pure but it appears I can't??? Surely there has to be a pure water? You should see me washing juice bottles out, in a sink of boiling water with a tiny amount of fairy. Left to soak for a few hours - then boil the kettle and pour it into every bottle 20 times, rinse repeat- have to hold the bottle with tongs as it gets so hot. Then leave bottle in boiling kettle water in a pyrex bowl overnight, then following day repeat the 20 kettle washes, then leave again in a bowl of boiling water, then leave to dry.

it doesn't have to be totally sterile, that isn't the reason distilled or de-ionised water is used for vaping. If I was you i'd throw away bottles once they need cleaning as it must cost £20 in electricity boiling the kettle so many times. lol
