Good for them babs. There have been several articles debunking that NY Times article. It was so obviously bullsh*t and had about 800 comments mostly very critical of the poor story. Unfortunately there were many more articles that basically reprinted the bullsh*t.

Good for them babs. There have been several articles debunking that NY Times article. It was so obviously bullsh*t and had about 800 comments mostly very critical of the poor story. Unfortunately there were many more articles that basically reprinted the bullsh*t. That is exactly the biggest problem we face IMHO Many "news" sites and papers don't do their own news, they just reprint what another has already written. Even if you shoot down one the story get's reprinted and reprinted ad-infinitum and more and more people read it, the more times they see different news outlets saying the same thing the more likely they are to believe it. The other problem we have with media is how often we see stories going national and international about the number of people that have stopped smoking because of e-cigs and how much healthier they feel and compare that to the number of stories of people who's batteries have gone pop or they've died from something that it's impossible for e-cigs to cause or perish the thought suffered a minor nicotine overdose that lasted for 10 minutes. Or worse still, how often does Stanton "the mad mechanic" Glans get his utter fantasist bollocks he calls science get reprinted and treated as gospel. Truth is no one wants to read or hear about someone doing well and being happy - that's boring. Death, destruction and disaster is what sells, always has, always will - stories about avoiding a potential slow lingering death aren't interesting and immediate enough to compete with fairytales about thirdhand vaping and pneumonia and the "gateway effect".

It a strange thing to read that then see the link at the bottom to an article on the same website saying the opposite. At least they are trying though!

Welcome to the world of "Chinese Whispers" .... I am stunned & amazed that the Daily Mail hasn't blamed Global Weather Change to ecigarettes yet
