Firstly, let's get rid of the burnt taste..
what power is your vamo set to?
A good starting point is usually ~8watts.
saying that, I found grants vanilla custard to be it's nicest at 5.7watts.
also, make sure your vamo is in it's RMS setting.

A burnt taste with a vamo generally means its in the wrong mode. Press and hold the - button for about 10 seconds until the screen displays RMS - if it displays Mean hold it in for another 10 seconds. Once RMS is set it will stay in that mode even after changing the battery.

Hi southernduckyThe 1.8 ohms is the resistance of your aspire nautilus. 4.5 volts is a little high for that - I'd start with about 3.7. But people mostly use vamos in the watts setting. To change from volts to watts hold down both small buttons together until the display changes. Then put the watts up to 7 or 8.

How does that taste? Turn it up one notch at a time and have a taste. Once it starts to taste burnt, knock it down one notch and away you go. you can then mess about getting watts and rms. there is plenty of youtube videos of the vamo. try this as a starter..

Then have a fag while you sort it out! This is a journey, not a sprint.
First thing is to make sure you are in RMS mode. Do what @condimentking said above. Did that work?
