Hi all a quick question please, im at work and using my work set up which is 1300mah vision spinner and N nature mini pro tank the coil is 1.5 ohms and cotton wick. I have my vision set on the lowest setting 3.3v and when i vape loads of vapour but no flavour what so ever tried upping the volts slowly and you can hear it spiting and start to get the burnt taste. Im using RY4 had this problem yesterday and thought it was the juice so changed juice today.

3.3v with 1.5ohms is over 7 watts already. I'd be surprised if you can get over 3.5volts, then again, you have a rebuilt head. I'll try on some of my own builds later.

It's possible you have too much cotton wool in the wick. CW expands when it soaks up juice, and it can fill the coil tightly and restrict the wicking. When you put the cotton in dry, it needs to be able to move back and forwards through the coil. If it can't, it's too tight and you need to reduce it a bit.

Whoops, that sends my theory back to the drawing board.

Agree it's a wicking issue - if you've bunt the cotton, it'll taste foul and will need replacing at the earliest opportunity.

Just catching the coil is right - I've not used one of the nature vape sets but they look very similar to a pro tank head.
What I do is twist it really tight at one end, and less tight as it goes down the piece of cotton. I feed it through the tight end until I can feel a little bit of resistance, pull it back a tiny bit (a sixteenth of an inch) and then unwrap and lightly fluff both sides that stick out from the coil. Trim to size, wet the wick and reassemble.

Great advice ^^^ from ionian - the CW needs to move freely through the coil to allow for saturation/expansion. Funny, my vaping mate called me this morning with a similar problem with a Protank head, and I gave him the self same advice. He thought the CW had to be a snug fit, and as a consequence has put too much in. Let us know how you get on!

however, having been doing this on my protank heads for a while now, I know that after a while the coil itself goes too far gone to give a good vape, even with re-wicking with fresh cotton. After 3 weeks use, you're pushing the coil a bit and may have to admit to the fact the coil itself needs replacing...

Sounds like my nights taken up, love making coils need to experiment with the wicks though ;-)

Someone (apologies, I can't remember who it was) said - when you're making cotton wool wicks, pick up how much you think you need, then put half of it back.
