So Mr Mac has been ranting and raving about how he has the best vape ever and when I tasted his I must agree! We are vaping the same juice, at the same watts but his coil is 1.5 where mine is 2ohms and his tastes better, how can this be?

As you LOWER the resistance the temperature of the coil RISES. So his is different to yours, if you crank up the voltage or wattage you should get to a point where yours vapes the same as his.

So then even vaping at the same watts with the same juice on the same system will taste different because of the coil? Gosh wish id known that before I ordered about 3 months worth of coils

Yes, we are both using the mini pt3 as an out and about, both coils were started at the same time too

I think Des is mixing up voltage with wattage? Stick his pt3 on your set up and see if there's a difference

Gosh wish id known that before I ordered about 3 months worth of coils It really does not matter (within reason) what resistance you put on your device if you run in WATTAGE mode as you should get a similar* vape as the device will vary the output. *However, there are differences in the physical properties of the coils usually there will be more wraps around a wick of a higher resistance coil, this will influence the vape also I have coils of exactly the same resistance and make out of the same packet and some just vape better or worse than the same resistance coil.

This is why I don't go for the in thing of vw. It's never going to be a set and forget set up. Different juices require different voltage, hence different wattage. I've also seen a coil register slightly different ohms on different meters. I have a few vv devices and alter to taste. It would probably marginally less messing about to use wattage, but I paid £19 and £13 for my two main devices.

My first guess would be that your coil is more gunked up than his (or his was manufactured better or something), in which case his pt3 will taste better than yours whether it is on his set-up or on yours.
