Hi good people.
8 days into the vaping thang & all going very well.
I have noticed today that on one or two of the evods, when I press the button to get the coil going, there is slightly less 'crackling/fizzing" noise & the taste isn't quite the same.
There is still a reasonable amount of vapour, the battery is still not far off full, and the eliquid is halfway up the 'window'.
Would it be time to change the coils even though I'm certainly not getting any "burnt" taste?
Cheers
Ian

Probably....
I know the bad taste before loss of vapour.

Yes CaptainChaos it sounds as though the coil is gunked up & not allowing the juice to the heat they usually lose taste a bit when ready for changing, how long has the current coil been in? I love the vape when the coil is first changed

Depending on which liquid you vape a coil may last a few days or a few weeks, once it stops producing vapor/flavour or noises then it's usually begging to gunk up with charred deposits and you will find that it's time to change the coil , or recoil !

The main culprit is "King of Tobacco" (Dekang) - that's been in there for 7-8 days now & refilled once - there is definitely no burnt taste, just seems a weaker vape strength.
I'll change the coil anyway & see if there's a difference - back shortly (unless I break something) hahahahaha

I use a caramel tobacco blend and generally need to clean the coil in my kayfun every couple of days.

And the winner is ....... ME! Coil changed. It still isn't doing a huge amount of fizzling noise, but the strength of flavour has returned with not much effort inhaling

Sometimes they don't crackle other times they do, don't have a clue why but that is the way I remember when I first started and all of a sudden there was a pop, like a really loud pop, I dropped the whole thing and was convinced it was going to explode

Regarding when to change your coils, well there is now definitive answer just when it doesn't taste as good is all I can advise. I change mine every couple of days, but I could keep it going I just like the new taste. I have had very few burnt, I just change them because the flavour isn't as good. I have put brand new heads in though which taste burnt, or wrong immediately so the head itself can be to blame also getting some duff ones is not unusual. I guess it is one of those things as kanger, innokin etc can not test them first.

you change your coil ever 1-2 days LMFAO i dont know that just sounds excessive lol you will find changing your wick/cotton ever 2 days and your coil ever week to be a lot more easier and better as you dont really need to change the coil that offten just dryburn your coil is all thats needed to clean the coil then rewick/cotton and your good to go.... coils last a hell of a lot longer... than 2 days...

Dryburn and reuse, repeat untill it no longer works well enough then change the coil, no need to change the coil every two days, unless you are made of money?

dependent on the juice used, there is a need to change your coil every couple of days if the taste is better with a new one.
I re-wick with cotton every day after dry burning the coil, but It's not as good tasting as when I fit a new coil, which I do every other day.

Dry burning is a great way to keep a coil going. Just rinse and pat dry, connect to your battery, and give it a series of short 3-4sec bursts until it stops smoking, setting off your smoke alarm, and generally smelling really horrible! Then re-assemble the clearo and refill, vape as normal. It should be possible to dry burn 4 or 5 times until there is no appreciable improvement - that's the time to replace the head. Of course if you can get into recoiling your own (and it's really not as difficult as it might seem), then you can rebuild the coil for literally pence, and the vape is far superior to a shop bought coil. And then of course there are RBAs (ReBuildable Atomisers) like the Kayfun etc. That's when you see and experience a massive improvement in taste and vapour, and if you fit a microcoil (again, quite easy!), you simply replace the cotton wool wick and off you go again.
