Evod recoiling

Tomorrow is recoil day.

Just wondering if I can use cotton wool on my evods and vivi nova? I usually just recoil them like a stock head with silica and the wraps all spaced out. Do microcoils work in them? Just thinking of trying something a bit different while I wait for my new stuff to arrive haha

Yes you can use cotton wool I have some here done with CW.

They work VERY WELL with micro coils.

Oooh interesting, i'll have to get the Mr to teach me how to use his multimeter haha

I use the 2mm silica, just wind a micro coil on a 14 gauge needle, 1.6mm, then wrap a bit of mesh around the end of the silica and feed it through. The cotton seemed to keep having leaking and gurgling issues but with the silica it just works perfect every time. Don't know why.

Pepperty it was enjay who mentioned the mesh though that's how I do it as well

A bit of tinfoil would work too, it would just stop it catching on it's way through

Tightly twisting the end of the cotton wool works every time for me, no more difficult than threading a large needle

Yep they work great 10 wraps of .32 gives me 1.9 oms then cw no problems lots of flavour

think the reson why peps get probs with using cotton wool is the dont use enuff

I roll the cotton wool quite tight then once I've trimmed the ends I fluff them up again with a needle, fully fills the gaps under the grommet ! No leaks and lots of flavour

Also it's easy to get old cotton wool out clean coil & fill with clean cotton wool & your away again
