No not normal at all. Check the lower contact, has it come loose ?
You should tighten the lower contact with a pair of pliers so it can't come loose.

Check there's no swarf in the bottom pin threads. Happened to me on a real one.
Edit Have you checked it with another atomiser and if so, does it still do it?

Think you need to check what ohms your coil is in the aqua and is the battery sufficent enough to run it, sub ohms ie:under 1.0 ohm requires a 20a battery or more to be safe.

I think you may need to strip the atomiser and check it over. Sounds like a dead short.

just incase new people look on this thread you dont need a 20amp battery to go under 1 ohm example efest imr 18350 800 mah has a 6.4amp limit so the lowest "safe" resistance you can go is .75 ohms whatever you choose to do please research reshearch and then some more, i took my figure from a battery amp chart that i have seen posted on this forum and others lots of times so i am just going of that, but you dont need a 20amp battery to sub ohm safe going of what the battery chart says

I can notice the difference between 10 A and 30 A batteries vaping a 0.9 ohm coil. I have found that eFest 18350 don't have a long life, I recently recycled 3 that had not even done 200 cycles. I was shocked to learn the eFest are selling those purple batteries rating them at their "pulse" current rating, beware of this. Generally the smaller the battery, the higher the internal resistance so the bigger the sag or voltage drop. As your resistance goes down, the current (Amps) go up and the demands on your battery. Also its much more convenient for me to charge 2 2100 mAh 30 A VTC4 batteries at 2 A in just over an hour and not be tied to my charger. IMO when buying new batteries go for twice the current amp rating that you need for good performance and battery working life (less stress on battery).

yeah i agree but was just saying it could still be done with a lower amp battery, to a extent.
really is that right about the purple efest? thats abit of a sly trick eh, what is the continuious amp rating if you know? and could i ask what battetys you would reccomone for sub ohm vaping? i am not into it but incase the mood takes me it would be nice to know? am guessing the green sonys vtc sonthing or other?
