So I was greeted this morn with vape mail from china, the first of my 6 packages My package consisted of two Protank 3's. I have never bothered doing this before but after holding it up against the one I brought from a uk vendor, the font seemed a little bolder so I scratched off the code strip on both to check it out on the site...which happened to be down. Any how's, the code on both boxes is identical, can that be right?

to be honest i would of thought they would be different but i looked at both of mine one from uk one from china and the lettering is a different size and quality ,the top caps are 2 slightly diff sizes and inside the top the tube were it touches the coil one looks silver and one looks brass which is which i couldn't tell you but i thinks they both work the same oh and the drip tip is a tighter fit in one than the other lol
ok im off to get the micromiter

decoy, you are so right! I just opened it up further and the end bit that meets the coil is also a brass colour where the one from the uk is silver lol, I would never have noticed that one! That's what I thought it would be different codes for each product! Just hope they vape ok as I have 3 more on its way

If you got them from FT, the product description has the material as chromed brass.

im guessing that they were seconds as the chimey tube has been machined down so it fits on the coil head and it looks like they haven't had a final touch up it works the same as the other one so for a 3rd of the price i ant complaining is your drip tip a wee bit wobbly as well mrs mac

THe drip tip isn't too bad decoy, it is a little looser than the other one but as I change them out anyways, it should be ok, I am just concerned now about the brass and juice aspect

had a look round and tbh best answer i can find is this Its only bad if you let it oxidise. Thats why brass pans and copper pans have such high maintenance? Pretty sure pans and things used to be made of brass and copper.
For instance, you can get Zinc drip tips. That has to be bad aswell if you let it oxidise.
tbh it makes seance and as the bit that we on about is were the rubber seal sits it shouldent get hot nuff to cause any real concern but i only been looking in to it for bout an hour so im prob gona get shot down in flames but in my experience it takes a lota heat to release gasses off metals (xwelder so used to dealing with galvanized stuff and that is nasty )

Focal has materials listed as stainless + glass + brass. The tank is certainly glass, who knows which bits are stainless steel and which bits are brass.

OK, I've just seen this thread. Firstly I tried the to get to the "Genuine code checker" via the official Kanger website and it appears to be down. I have Protank II's and 3's and have just taken the cellophane off of one of each and all looks ok to me, no brass showing. As I have had plenty of these I can say from experience that the bottom connector section on genuine Kangers is plated brass (alloy?), I know as the threads tend to strip if you use them a lot and I have bought spare bases, you can see the" brass" threads when they strip. As to the bodies, I don't really know but would suspect they are the same i.e. plated alloy. So I checked the Kanger website and it DOES NOT say that the Protank is Stainless Steel, whereas the it says the Aerotank is stainless steel. This sort of construction is common in most metal clearomisers and as long as any non plated brass parts are not sitting in contact with liquid (in the tank) then I would personally not worry about it. If you however are not comfortable with this then I would suggest you raise a ticket with the supplier. The glass tanks appear well finished (rounded ends) and the etching looks ok too me. I would suspect the only stainless steel part is the drip tip. The clearomiser that Mrsmac looks like the mini version and I don't have any of these to compare. Tagging: Dan norfolkphil decoy
