Got a few old coils and no ultrasonic cleaner. From what I've read, cheap vodka or baking soda are two options. Any reasons for/against using either or reasons for using one over the other? Have a feeling bicarb would affect the wicks. Can replace the coils with outer wicks with cotton, some are enclosed wicks though. Don't have to be gleaming clean, just need to get rid of bad/burnt taste and see if I can extend the life of them a little. Any advice welcome, thanks for lookin Mikey

Bicarb of Soda is as good as anything . . . leave overnight to soak and then rinse thoroughly. Though I don't think you can beat a new coil, whatever you do.

You could dry burn them as well Mikey@Vaporized some people do, some people don't.

A day in a vodka bath ... Rinse off ... Pat dry ... Then dry burn a few times whilst blowing off remaining black crud .... Used to work well with I clear 30 heads

I agree with you there Mandy ... for the sake of a quid or so stick a new head in ... it just isn't worth the loss of flavour and vape quality trying to squeeze out every last bit of life from a coil by washing and dry burning (you can always recoil the head if you are able ofc)

It's only money after all.
