I do a heaped teaspoon to a cupful of water cHooBeyDoo, which is more than enough for the rare occasion I clean anything. Thank you kindly, very helpful indeed.

Bicarb' is a good stain remover but you need something stronger to remove the grease/oil residue that may be on new items. Far more effective is soda crystals. it's sodium carbonate and is related to bicarb' but is more caustic/alkaline, it has a Ph of about 11 and is good at cleaning just about everything but do not use on aluminium. Another really good cleaner is the Oxy laundry products (Sodium Percarbonate) which are a modern version of soda crystals. Get the un-perfumed one
Both of these can found cheaply at the supermarket.

Thanks, all great advice! I will stick with the bicarb and a good scrub with an old (but clean) toothbrush for now see how it goes.

I get my Bicarbonate of Soda from here (Reids of Chester). I buy 1kg at a time currently. They do 100grams up to 10kg. I didn't know until this thread to use it for cleaning vaping supplies, so it has been very helpful for me too. I know it is used to clean many other things. I will use it in my reactors making C02 for plants in one of my aquariums (CO2 kit from Hong Kong), just awaiting non return valves from Hong Kong. It may be in one of the three parcels I have to collect tomorrow if sorting office is open (or Saturday), or they may be 3 parcels of vaping supplies (awaiting 6), that will all need cleaning before use.

Thanks for the link @bitsnpcs , I bought 200 grams from Tesco last night, shold last a little while. I won't use it too often so it's enough for now. (for the vape mail), LOL
