Super-Shiny, I've been using the single coil heads in the Aerotank. 8 wraps on a 3/64 jewellers screwdriver, I then use the grommet that is on the the duel coil head but turn it upside down. Not a single gurgle after 4 days vaping. Hey iLardyboy can't quite get my head around what you mean by turning the grommet upside down. Have you got a picture please.

It's the grommet that goes on top of the wick to prevent leaking, not the one you take out to recoil. It's probably not called a grommet, but that's what I call it lol.

I thought that was the bit you were talking about but I can't see the benefit....is this on the aerotank?

For me wicking is better this way, and the grommet prevents any juice getting into the inner tube. Here's a pic:

Didn't realise it was dual coil. Can they be rebuilt as singles?

But what does tuning upside down actually do? I thought that the grommet face with the hole in still seals against the inner tube of the tank when it is the right way up! Surely when turning it upside down, you are exposing more of the wick slots, allowing excess juice into the coil housing. It looks like the silicone cup is designed to sit just above the wick when fitted over the coil head?

Same, i tried it and looked at it and thought "That wick is fully exposed with gaps" The only thing i can think of is a big coil and loads of cotton to fill the gap but that would be a lot of cotton ??? Or are we just getting old and the last remaining brain cells have just popped

It sort of looks like solving a problem that is not there. Perhaps iLardyboy could clarify the problem he had, that made him try the upside down silicon cup.

It sort of looks like solving a problem that is not there. Perhaps iLardyboy could clarify the problem he had, that made him try the upside down silicon cup. Just to clarify, I'm using a single coil head from Protanks. I first tried it with the grommet from the single coil as normal = flooded I then tried it with the dual coil grommet turned upside down on top of the single coil grommet = dry hits galore I then did what I've been talking about = great wicking, no leaking, gurgling or dry hits I used a single coil head as the dual coil head always ended up flooding after a period of time with a single coil in it. Hope this helps.
