Hi, I have two torchy brand 18650 2600's and was thinking of buying a mechanical and possibly adding a kick2 later. Would this be safe? Should I get the kick2 before trying to use them? The mechanical I was looking at was the gold astro clone on fasttech.

Torchy's own-brand batteries are not protected, so to be on the safe side a kick would be desirable. He does sell protected Efest batteries but if you already have 18650's I'd go for the kick.

FT sell kicks so chuck one in your basket with the astro clone, I think they are only about £5 from FT.

Torchy batteries are fine in a mech, i use them.
What ohms would you be running it at is probably more relevant to safety ?

The mechanical I was looking at was the gold astro clone on fasttech. From what ive read on the torchys his list is unprotected batteries. imr are more stable than icr batteries but are both unprotected so in a dna, vamo or mod like that with circuits you should be fine. Using a mech with a kick gives it that added safty feature also , best to use a 2 cent fuse with just a mech but hey if you maintain your battery well you shouldnt have any problems, just dont let it drop its charge too low. Just be careful if your sub ohming you might need a battery that can handle the extra pressure amps In the end if youve got a iffy battery youve got a iffy battery. My faverite reviewer ,this guy makes watching so much more fun lol ,,,this is a more sensible clip from him .forgetaboutit
