I haven't got a problem with mg/ml being over extra for me it's when it's under that you should g4s name and shame think about it anything over 75mg and you start going into grey area of licence required for possession. Also test is not really suitable for pre made liquids as the ph could possibly be swayed by flavourings sweeteners etc. This test is primarily for nic base. And it's always best to test 3 times and take the average between the tests as the figure to work with when preparing you liquids for Vaping. But hey test all your liquids it will give you a good ball park figure as to the labeled strength.

What I'm interested in is the good ones (and possibly to save any legal disputes). So which of the usual suspects are the good ones? As I am about to order some more. Perhaps this explains 'why the big price difference between vendors?'

Perhaps this explains 'why the big price difference between vendors?' I'd thought about the price difference thing a fair bit - and I wonder if the end product price has a lot to do with the flavouring concentrates used when playing with <12mg/ml solutions. Seems to me that the nicotine base isn't the most expensive thing in play here (but, given that my journey into mixing consists solely of buying everything I need and no actual experience...). Of course, when it comes to retail price vs cost, cost has to include volume savings, distribution methods and the producers own cost of living / salary... The final component is, of course, profit. Does anyone know how many tests the E-cigarette Refill Nicotine Quantitative Test Kit sold by Oxford ChemServe is good for?

I checked the pdf that is on that site and it doesn't say how many tests. But maybe one can work it out from the list of materials supplied. I'm guessing not many tests!

Hi all just like to share this info have been buying nic base from various suppliers for quite some time now and have had a few occasions were the nic has been less than expected. This prompted me to track down a nic test kit which has proved to be a valuable tool which I would recommend to anyone who is stocking up on nic base. The company in question is OxfordChemServe.com. Thanks for posting that, very useful. I've been looking for one of these for a while. Link to kit:- oxfordchemserve.com/e-cigarette-refill-nicotine-quantitative-test-kit/£9.90 + £3 P&P seems small price to pay for piece of mind. We don't know for sure that what manufacturers claim to be in liquids is the truth. With a few few people testing we will soon flush out the rogues, having people home testing will keep them on there toes too. With the murky world of a blackmarket we'll have no guarantee at all ,with big money to be made by "cutting" eliquid or base. As with the drugs blackmarket the "dealers" main concern will be profit and quality control will soon go out the window. I for one am getting my practice in early. P.s they sell nice pestle and mortars too. Thanks uvm78 and seniorphil for the info just ordered one thumb up

It's about time we as consumers of this product wised up to what we are actually receiving from our suppliers. I have recently had to send back 500ml 72mg nic back to one of the popular places you are obtaining nic base from because it only tested between 39mg/ ml and 41mg/ml. Would be interested to know who the vendor is too and their response

Just ordered a kit too along with a pack of 4 glass stirring rods .... under £15 all in delivered I have started bulk mixing my own 24mg base to make it quicker when I mix up the flavours so this will be perfect to check if I am mixing to what I think I am as well as checking the strength of the original nic base....

Hi all Kit contain 100ml of hci titre solution it takes just over 6ml to accurately assay 1ml of 75mg/ml nicotine base more if stronger less if weaker than 75. It also contain 50ml of indicator solution which is good for untold amounts of test cos you only need about 3 drops for each test. When you have run out of the supplied titre solution more is available from his website but these are in half litre bottles just over £12 including postage which I think is a billy bargain. He also provides you with a discount code for 10% when you re order.

Average price from U.K vendor for 500ml 72-75mg nic is about £50 including postage 0.10pence ml. I vape my liquids at 18mg cost to me to make 10ml juice not including flavourings and dilutants is 25p 10-15% flavourings adds another 50p, the bottle another 25p and a couple pence for PG VG All in just over a £1.

First test result of Go4Smoke 72mg Nic in VG is 73.19mg.
So allowing for a small margin of error because VG is so gloopy and harder to measure I'm happy with that

Used 6ml for second test and bingo. Easy to use kit. Thanks uvm78.

My VG batch from b'star came in at 80+ Isn't that illegal? What would the Trading Standards dept. of the local council do if notified?
