Must admit I love my Caravela clone from FT - it's the whole kit, with three tubes, 18350, 500, and 650, and it's so lovely. Quite hefty so it feels solid, unlike the Nemesis, and I use 18500s and 18650s usually, but in 350 mode it is really dinky and you really can hide it in your hand! As long as you don't vape at really low ohms, less than 1.0, you will be fine with good quality batteries, but for peace of mind use a kick too. Wouldn't be able to fit in a kick on 18650 mode though, but it hasn't caused me any problems so far. You will get used to the vape from a mech mod, once the vape starts to die off, swop over the batteries and you'll be safe. If I check min in my Vamo after swopping, there is plenty of charge left to give me a couple of hours VW vape after I've swopped. There is some scaremongering going on over Mech Mods, but I'll reiterate, as long as you vape something at around 1.4ohm you'll not do any damage to attie or battery. Here it is in 18350 mode, with a Kayfun in front:

Oh my so many options andas things to consider before I buy. I tried a bottom fired mod last month... Interesting trying to find a wayy to hold it and get it to work but I'm sure what ever I buy I will get used to. for mechanical mods what kind of batteries do you use, different to a vamo is my assumption? You would think I would know by now by reading so much on the forum. One mod, bread of heaven and that gin liquid I think will be my birthday pressie to myself.it will be a slightly early one as once an idea is sorted in my head I can't wait more than a week one day I'll stop buying I find bottom fired mods difficult to hold, much prefer a side button. As for batteries most 22mm mods take either 18350, 18500 or18650 batteries that look like a normal battery, just thicker. 18 is the thickness and 350 is the length in mm ie 35 cm. You can get them from most vendors or ebay. Just make sure you get good quality ones

As for the safety thing mechs are fine, a sony vtc4 battery is good down to at least 0.2ohms but I've seen people going lower without issues but as long as you stay above that it's a safe as any mod. A non mech mod is actually more likely to be dangerous as anything with electronics can go on fire when it's left on it's own if the electronics go wrong. A mech mod on the other hand can't unless you press the button. Anyway yeh, just buy one, I don't think you'll really regret any of them tbh.

Dont need tanks so much as I have a kayfun3.1, iatty and taifun I am waiting to get a hold of a kracken from mvapes when in stock. Flat top or button top for mechanical as at the mo I have a few button top efests. Starting to look like I'll be getting a nemesis with all the recommendations on here.

In that case get a nemesis for the kayfuns etc as it's a 22mm mod and get the caravella for the taifun as it's a 23mm mod, sorted lol. The kraken is a good genesis, dual coils and it's likea dripper, got mine sitting at 0.4ohms just now with mesh but need to tilt it as the mesh is struggling to keep up. Uses a lot of juice too
