I have 2 of these, they have a smoked glass collar that the wick screws into and the collar has three air holes in it. I also have a kanger air flow thingy, does the collar that is part of the protank kit do the same job as the airflow thingy or is one more superior than the other? I have interchanged them and cant really tell a difference, am I doing something wrong or is there really no difference?
( I am not into techno speak - can you tell !!!! LOL )

didn't think the airflow control base fitted the mini-PT-2. How much difference will depend on how you set the airflow control ring on the base.

I use a Mini Protank 2 (waiting on another in the post) and if I understand correctly, the smoke glass collar with the 3 holes you speak of is (i think) gun metal. It's the base you screw the coil into that screws onto the battery.
I don't have a airflow control valve, yet, (although I am waiting for one at the moment), so cannot advise on this as such but the Mini Protank 2 base doesn't have adjustable airflow, it just has the 3 air holes. I've heard of others blocking the holes with a little blutac or wax to suit their needs if the draw is to airy or loose and I sometimes block one airhole with my finger when vaping on it if the draw is loose and airy. If you find the draw too loose and you're thinking of blocking the airholes just block one at first, don't block all of them otherwise you wont get much vapour and may flood the clearomiser/battery etc.
The airflow control valve speaks for itself, it controls the airflow, you adjust it to suit your needs without going to the trouble of blocking holes. Personally I think the control valve would be more superior and I am buying mine for my Protank 2, i've never heard of them being used on a Mini Protank though.

I'm a noob so can't offer any practical advice, but 'thingy' is about as technical as I get too! (Have you tried a whatsit on your oojah instead? Heard it gives a great vape... )
