What size micrcoil ID do use use for that yarn ? I have basically watched all the videos and bought everything that has been stated to buy - i wrap the 0.25 kanthal around a 1.5 or 2mm drill bit then i thread the cotton i listed above through it and even tried it on my kayfun 3.1 and all i get id burnt cotton taste - am seriously thinking of giving up building coils as i have done about 14 now and had one that was any good even my silica wicks with 1.5mm 6 wraps kanthal just gurgle and flood after about a hour

What size micrcoil ID do use use for that yarn ? Greg I use a reverse star Alan key set , bugger I actually can't see the mm , I use 28awg and that wick threads through with enough space, even when it's juiced up ( after use) it still pulls out easily and even on my 0.7ohm coils it's never yet burnt out. intheblim I've just had a look at that cotton your using and I really think it's why your getting issues. Get yourself some cotton balls , just make sure they are none scented etc and try that .

I use cotton wool from the supermarket but sent my wife out to get me some cotton yarn and she came back with this: It cost around £3, it's 4ply about 1.75mm Dia. I wick a 2mm coil like this but strip a couple of ply out in the smaller coils I use. Used it in a Spheroid and Sophia, it works well and is easy to assemble, but I think the cotton wool just edges it on flavour.
