Saved myself £300.00

Due to my son's laptop failing because of the hard drive i went and bought a new hard drive for £48.00..........as usual with laptops/pc's all is not that easy

First of i got a non stop error of PXE-E61 even though i changed the boot order to stop it connecting to a network solved that but delving deeper into the BIOS.

Error has now gone

Next error: non disk system error

No matter what i done the windows would not install, the laptop would simply not pick up anything in the DVD drive or USB drive with a bootable DVD/USB

Installed Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool and created a DVD...still did not work so tried using the same tool but this time tried to create a USB version and it would not create a USB version

Google time and found this fix: Clicky



Worked a treat and i now have a bootable USB drive, plugged it in and WOOT the laptop picked it up and installed windows 7

Best part is i got windows 7 for free from my favourite site

Notice the bit about: Bootable/Untouched/Activated/Updateable

No need for a activation key and works a dream, got it all installed on a USB for future use

Before all this i was just gonna get him a new laptop for around £300.00 but with some patience it's all fixed.

Took around 15hrs of searching google but i am a Happy bunny now.

I've got a friend who deals with pc's for a living so when I need a flash drive to load windows he gets a call lol.

on a similar note... anyone know how to fix a coffee maker? Its one of the big DeLonghi ones with a cappucino maker and milk frother built in.
It stopped heating up (just after the guarantee period), I bought & fitted a new heating element and thermister but it still doesn't work. Wifey wants to throw it away but I am also one of those who wont be beaten

Yep i never give up, funny thing was that i said to the OH "Right this is my last attempt at doing this, if this method doesn't work than i am lost and giving up"....and it worked

Decided this week to redo my hardrives, funny thing used a update disk for win7,loaded all fine with no old OS,but for some reason would not except the code for it,decided just to hit next and it installed without it,weird but i am not complaining lol

Really got fed up before with reloading it then would not authenticate phone MS to do it,tried all other ethods now just cheat with windows loader! if needed lol
