As soon as the light turns green, it stops charging.
E-cig batteries don't have any memory so it shouldn't do them any harm to use them even when they have not been fully charged.

When I was using 510 bats, I charged some for 8 hours and some I didn't. It didn't seem to make any difference in the battery life, either way.

Hi kingofswords I got my first Riva 510 kit today too and my instructions also said charge for 8 hours. I got fed up after about 6 and decided to take Chrissie's advice and go ahead - the light was green and indeed had been after about the first 20 minutes.
Anyway, I can reassure you that it is working fine. My instructions also said use for 20 minutes and then charge for another 3 hours and I think I will ignore that as well

It'll be fine King, you won't have to pop to the shops.

Li-Ion batteries on any device (includes phones mp3's etc) don't need an 8 hour charge when you first get them - it's a flood back to the days when a different battery (nim-h i think) was used to power them all - those suffered from the battery memory that Chrissie posted - Li-Ions don't suffer from the same issues so there's no need to worry about charging for 8 hours or leaving it on for as long as possible - once the light is green pop that sucker off and vape like crazy - oh and don't worry about them running flat as the cutoff is there to prevent it (again that's to protect the battery)
