I expect many experienced users might be a bit horrified, but here goes:
Pipe cleaners for drying out the air tubes and drip tips.
Baby Wipes for two uses. One, for cleaning my clearo tanks if I have made a hash of filling them and wiping off ego type batteries and mods. Two, Then I let them dry out and they are then used for wiping the metal work and coils etc. dry, and as pull throughs on my plastic/glass tanks, because they are nice and soft. They last quite a while before I need to bin them, and Baby Wipes are pretty cheap, even the cheapo Tesco ones.
I have a set of small files that I discovered unloved and unused in my shed, and found that a small round file, blunt one end, and a bit pointy at the other of about a 2.5- 3mm diameter (not measured), is ideal for poking down a dry baby wipe into top filled clearo's, and for wiping inside the base part with coil, so I can wrap a bit of baby wipe around it to dry stuff out. Also for stuffing down a baby wipe into the top of the 510 battery connector to clean off any leaked juice and just swirl it around a bit.
So that is my 'cleaning kit' of baby wipes, fresh and dried out, pipe cleaners and a small diameter file for poking...
I also probably go against all the rules, and just break down my tanks, and run them under the cold water tap, give the bits a shake to get rid of some water, dry off a bit with a towel and then finish of drying with the above 'kit', and blow through the coils to expel any dampness then leave them for a few hours to totally dry out.
That's it, my Master Class for cleaning stuff.....................and no doubt Granny Sucking Eggs time.

I use pure bleach. All my flavours taste the same now, sadly.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I use cotton buds as well, good for having a rub around in the top of the 510 battery pin. I could use paper towel, but once a baby wipe has been used for something, other than cleaning your engine or after an oil filter change, I find a second use for them once dried out, as they make a very nice soft wipe that can get poked down into narrow tanks to clear out most of the moisture. Since they are quite strong when dry, and thinner than paper towel, to me it is probably easier to poke the thinner wipes into a narrow tank.
I don't go quite as posh as soaking the stripped down tanks in bicarb, (or even lash out to buy an ultrasonic cleaner) as for one thing I don't think there is any in the kitchen cupboard, and two, I can't be bothered to go out and buy some. Anyway, I would only forget when I got into Town, and if I made a note, then I would probably lose that as well.
So I find just running a cold tap over them, or sometimes if in a really cleaning mood, I will use the hot tap and some warm water. Since I have not used your methods I have nothing to compare to, to see if the tank tastes any different once dry.

I have only found them on sale in one small shop, I have tried all the shops selling ciggies etc. but the person behind the counter looks at me with glazed eyes, not even in our local Coop store.

In a warm ultrasound bath with a little lemon juice. Three 8 minute cycles, rinse under warm running water (all the airways too), shake out and onto an airy windowsill for a couple of hours seems to do it nicely. Of course I dry burn the coil too, but only on an ego battery.

The cost of a decent ultrasound jobbie seems quite expensive. With that sort of money I could buy say a Vamo v5 or something, or continue my (expensive) quest to find a selection of liquids that I can vape half/all day. I am getting there, but my quest continues. So I just make do with cold or warm water, pipe cleaners, and some dried out baby wipes, as I think they are stronger than paper towels, plus I get a fairly long life out of them. Then just leave separated tank parts to dry for a few hours or over night. I don't seem to have any problems so far with my ham fisted way of doing things.
