A friend has recently purchased a Caravela clone but the tubes appear to be too long for flat-top batteries but too short for nipple-top. In addition the top pin is fixed not adjustable. Anyone able to offer any advice? Vapesafe fuse? Am I right in thinking there's a washer available to take up the difference in length - have done a search on my phone but no joy so far? He doesn't want to bother with a Kick as the whole idea is to go back to basics and keep life simple. Your advice would be most welcome!

chykensa I can't tell you for sure yet, but DiscoDes has sent me a battery whilst he's on holiday in Spain which he says will fit the Caravela 18350 version, and apparently they are these ones: www.fasttech.com/product/1271001He only sent it yesterday so I've yet to receive it. As soon as I get it I will let you know how I get on with it in my Caravela. I had problems with batteries I'd bought, if you remember reading a thread of mine about it all, I think you commented on there yourself. As regards the pins, I bought mine from focalecig and that one came with 2 extra pins at different sizes (+ an additional spring) which is very helpful when using different tanks, so I don't know what to suggest regarding the pins.

Looks like a brilliant idea if the batteries are too short. Good find

Just a pain that they are shut for two weeks as of tomorrow - not sure if my friend will get his order in before close of business today!! Thanks toots and Super-Shiny for the help - any ideas if a Vapesafe will fill up the gap satisfactorily and be worth a few quid too?

Thanks Super-Shiny - ordered some! I think it's the least expensive and easiest option to work with first; if this doesn't work, we think again!

Sorry to quote myself above chykensa, but I've just received the battery DiscoDes sent me and it fits the Caravela perfectly, going off to order some more from FT now via the link above. Maybe your friend can get some of these too.

chykensa use the magnet on the negative end of the battery as if the magnet moves slightly on the positive end current would run across magnet to mod case and complete a circuit and short out your battery or get very very hot to hot to handle remember safety first enjoyment second
