Following on from an earlier post I am happy with my Vamo V5 but didn't like the feel of the stainless finish so have wrapped it with J-Wraps wrap. Feels very plasticy but prefer the look - I will leave it on for a few days and then decide whether to leave it on or not

Looks great, I know what you mean about the plastic feel, like a large ego. I've just got some .8mm cork sheet I am going to give a try.

Cutting out the template with a knife is pretty easy except for the buttons. It's real hard to get them perfectly round, especially the small ones. remnant made himself a jig to punch out the button holes instead of cut them. I may try suede first, before the cork. They both have a nice feel, but will stain so they'll only last a few months.

No problems wrapping - there is an overlap even without any stretching its just the plasticy feel that I don't like I expected it to be raised profile.

Good to hear and hopefully you'll get used to it. Do you think the wraps will be easy to peel off without leaving any residue? I have the Vamo v5 on the way from Focal and was looking at the wraps for future reference, some cool designs too

I'm currently starting a run of crocheted vamo socks (when I get the length right lol)... I have everything I just need to get on and do them. Am making them out of sock yarn with cord/ribbon on the top (so they fit on your belt) and a drawstring bottom. Red varigated yarn....Will post pics when I've had some success. They will be £5 paypal f&F including postage (second class - non recorded) Let me know if folk would be interested Jane

Had another go. Bought some textured vinyl material from ebay black finish cost £1.25 inc p&p !!! Printed out the Vamo wrap template and got help from my wife whose hobby is card making and we used brad hole cutters for the holes and craft knife and guillotine for the cutting. I like the look and the feel of this better than the J wrap and when I removed the J wrap there was no residue. I have kept the J wrap one in case I change my mind but at the mo I am very happy with this DIY wrap
