Trying to understand how this is happening nd if it happens to other folks..We are using ego batteries and my wife noticed that they were damp at the screw point of the battery..It develops a kind of black gunk..cleans up with a q-tip
Any one know why this happens or is just because we live in 85% humidity
Thanks

The coils heads for the atties have a hole through them which is supposed to allow air to flow straight up over the coil but the other side is that juice can seep down and land on top of the battery.

Provided it's not dripping out, just wipe with a tissue from time to time a small amount of leakage is almost inevitable with most e-cigs.

It's perfectly normal unfortunately I was watching a video about the new aerotank giant and it is sealed at the bottom. I presume that this means all the aerotanks are, but I have no idea if my assumption is correct. (never owned one) The OH uses a joyetech ego CC clearo, which he likes because it is sealed at the bottom and so doesn't leak onto the connection. Not the clearo of choice for me, but he gets along really well with it. It is important to clean the leaks regularly.

Another possibility is condensation. Usually the airhole to allow air into the atomiser and draw the vapour up the 'chimney' is located at the base of a clearo or tank. If you vape quite hard for a couple of minutes and then put the device down, the condensation in the centre tube will run down onto the battery. As you say, a quick wipe with a cotton bud or piece of tissue will sort this out. Isopropyl Alcohol is also good for cleaning nooks and crannies like this.

Sucking to hard can make the problem worse, it pulls more juice on to the wick than you need which later drips down the air hole. If you have adjustable air-flow opening it a little may help.
