I wasn't sure what category to post this under and not sure if it's even an acceptable post - but I will post it anyway and if I get told off I know not to do it again


I wanted to just say a massive thanks to chykensa for telling me about this forum ! I have got some invaluable advice and even though it has tempted me to purchase more I have worked out what I've saved on smokes and what I've spent on vaping and I am STILL better off !

I have recommended this place to two fellow vapers but not sure if they've signed up yet, but I would like to say thanks especially to chykensa for telling me about you lot and also thanks to anyone who has offered words of advice as I am embarrassed to admit that 13 days is the longest I have ever gone without a smoke in the last ** years !! (I think I had been smoking about 15-20 prior to finding the joys of vaping) I had tried patches, fake smokes, cold turkey, even paid £200 once for hypnotherapy !! that was a total waste of time apart from the fact I noticed the colour red more I lasted about a week after hynotherapy LOL

I just hope that one day my banner at the bottom will look as impressive as some other peoples ! I just thinks it's a shame that when I went for smoking counselling about 5 years ago they never mentioned vaping ? it was all patches, gum or inhalers. I have a friend who has recently started on champix but I didn't fancy that.

I'm 65, been smoking for over 55 years. I stopped overnight after joining this forum and buying a starter kit.

aww totally with you! 25 years addicted (and I am told I was terrible!) within days this vaping milarkey seems perfectly simple, logical and sensible = with the support of reading/asking/sharing info via forum

The only part I cant grasp is why haven't the NHS jumped on board and grasped how simple quitting fags is? (through vaping)

Thank you very much wibble for your kind words. I chat with you at times on FB and just knew that your humour would mean you fit right in here with the rest of us nutters
I have received so much kind, considerate and helpful advice from the forum members over the last 18 months on so many matters, and it's lovely to be able to share some of that knowledge with our newer members now that I've done it and got the t-shirt, so to speak. In time you will be able to do the same, and share your knowledge with the next generation - provided we are all still allowed to vape, that is!
I should mention here that I last saw wibble 'in the flesh' nearly 20 years ago when she and I were involved with a Scout and Guide Marching Band in N. London. Bearing in mind that you regularly visit a beach only 8 miles from my house, a meet-up is long overdue!!! We have a lot of catching up to do

EDIT: Oh dear, I've just read that back; I think we should brace ourselves for a comment or two, but we were both in Scout uniform, so that should be OK, shouldn't it!?

LMAO .. we're you on the coach that had to do the quick change in transit to a competition where my parents were following the coach and said all they could see were "people taking off clothes and putting on Uniforms" !! LOL 

A meet up is DEFINATLEY on the cards !! only reason this didn't happen two weeks ago was because I was holidaying with other friends and everything just went along and it never happened ! (ok so we were too pissed and couldn't drive from the camp to where you were !!) 

You know I visit my beach often and no doubt we can meet up .. we'd been looking too book a week away for noodles birthday but I said being half term we couldn't afford it ... but heck !! if this carrys on we can afford to book a caravan for half term and spend all day down the watering hole half term week on october .. so make sure you're free !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) if we dont meet before that is ) x
