I had a go at recoiling a Kanger head with cotton and it seems to have worked first time! This is undoubtedly beginners luck but I'm feeling pretty pleased. I used 8 wraps of .25 wire and that gives me 2.3ohms as measured by my iTaste v3. I'm getting a tiny bit of juice on the battery head but actually less than I've seen with prebuilt Kanger heads. Major thanks to Super-Shiny for the guides. All in all, chuffed!

well done, its a great feeling knowing everytime you recoil a head its saving you £1.75 each time, and in my experience that makes it taste a whole lot better!

lairey, I can't tell you how much. Love tinkering with stuff but I'm generally completely ham-fisted. monfooldrop, heh, notwithstanding the cost savings the flavour (and vapour) from my Evod is pretty impressive

nelsonbloke, don't get me wrong it wasn't completely smooth - I think I used a nearly a full cotton ball trying to get that right and then I did get a short because I didn't trim one of the legs properly but I noticed that before I'd completely reassembled it.

Trim the legs by wiggling them, rather than using nail clippers or scissors. You will get a much closer break, and never have problems with problematical shorts Edit: sorry, I should have said: gently squeeze the completed head between thumb and forefinger to exert slight pressure on the silicone grommet thus preventing the leg pulling through slightly as you wiggle. Works every time for me

Thanks chykensa. That's a good tip that I'll remember for the next time.

Gratz Arcturion on your first coiling success! I do 8 wraps of 0.25 around a 1.8mm screwdriver too and get roughly 2 ohms so perfect for me. Feels great making your first one, my only problem was getting the cotton wool the right size but with practice have mastered that now My first ever coil came out at around the 4 ohm mark then I realised that i'd been sent the wrong size wire by mistake Edit: I get a little juice escape on to the battery pin too, it's something to do with the air pressure in the tank, gets slightly frustrating sometimes having to keep wiping it but I can cope with that as it gives a great vape compared to the stock coils, which also leak alot more.

cHooBeyDoo I agree that the cotton was the hardest bit and even now I suspect that I've got a bit too much in there but there's plenty of time for practice. And as you say, the vape is so different (better) than a stock coil that it's definitely worth the effort.

Well done on your first coil, it is a great feeling and i am still vaping on mine 10 days later lol getting the cotton right is tricky, but practice makes perfect and when i need to change the wick, it is a perfect opportunity to experiment

Arcturion Good job on the coil , my second attempt was better at 2 Ohm and im using it now. The cotton is a big improvement on flavour.

Thanks halight. I'll be watching out for your first coil post! Mrsmac I've got to resist the temptation just to rip it to bits and keep playing until I get it perfect (whatever that is) Excellent stuff hijack. Did you do much different this time around?

Arcturion It was the same coil I had ended up with last night and was much improved over my fist attempt.
