I have been using the evod starter kit from my epack for the last two weeks and it is just not doing much for me, the throat hit and the vape is not intense enough, I'm vaping a 24 juice but still crave for a real cig. I've been looking at the Nautilus on youtube and it got very good reviews with regards to the throat hit and the amount of vape. Could I use it with my present set up or do I need to go further and get something different like variable battery voltage. I'm at a loss of what to get, I can't afford to waste money so it would have to be right, to sum it up, I want a strong throat hit with a good lot of vape, at present I'm vaping a 24 tobacco juice. Would really appreciate some professional advice, hence my asking all you good people. CHEERS, Jamesrd.

I was just going to ask the ratio. Try caramel 70/30 medium from Joose Juice, nice tobacco flavour & not to sweet. I use an I taste vv, £29.95 from Myepack with 5 I16s, then you can adjust the vv to suit.

Hi jamesrd , Have you changed the coil heads on the Evods? The vape will diminish over time if you don't. You could use the nautilus with the Evod battery but in my opinion would be top heavy as the Nautilus is HUGE and more suited on a larger VV/VW device or mod. Here is a pic of it with a plinth on a Evod battery:

I met a Vaper today who is STILL using 36mg liquid after two years and STILL vaping all day. I asked him if he'd thought about VV/VW. He didn't understand the concept. So, I pulled out my MVP, adjusted it up to MAX (11 watts) and then gave him a few puffs. He was amazed.... "that is so much better than what I'm using"..... (That was 12mg liquid too). Totally Wicked keep selling him basic batteries and medium resistance atomizers. (why?)

I agree that a vv battery is a good way to go, but if you are really on a budget you could try a lower ohm head for your evods. The evod batteries give out a constant voltage, which makes it very easy to adjust your vape experience by using lower ohm heads. (lower ohm gives more heat and therefore more of a hit, you get the same experience from upping the voltage on a vv)
It is also important to change your heads regularly. A fresh head gives more of a hit than a gunked up one. Empty out any liquid remaining in the tank and give it a good rinse when you change the head, gunk builds up in the juice too over time.

Good advice from dragon! If you are caning the heads, you could reasonably expect a week tops from them. Another good reason to learn how to recoil yourself; if you do go on to bigger atomisers in the future which require you to build the coil from scratch, like a Taifun or Kayfun/Rusian 91% type, those skills will come in useful, and by making your own you can build a coil to your preference, rather than relying on what Kanger or other manufacturers think you might want

Before you buy anything more expensive, I would like to ask about the liquids you have tried in the last 2 weeks. How many different types, makes and brands? Can I also ask you roughly how much you vape a day ml? There is a big variation in strength of flavours out there. We may be able to find you some harder hitting liquids for your kit.

By going over to vv or vw you will notice a big difference in the vapeing you get. I were ushering ego batts and ce4 cleros. But the hit just did not do it for me so I duel fueled at the same time. When I moved up to a spinner and evod clero the hit I stared to get did it for me and I stoped duel fueling. I normally have the volts or watts up quite high on a morning and then on an evening I turn them down a bit as I vapeing more often while relaxing in front of the TV.

Once again you have all come to my rescue, thanks so much. I've had the evod a couple of weeks and have not cleaned it but I will now, can I use ordinary cotton wool in the heads or is it necessary to use organic and when you say I should change the heads on a regular basis what exactly are you referring to, (sorry my old brain is not generating very well) . So far the only juice I have used is Dekang from my epack, a tobacco 24, munkey munkey thanks for taking the time and trouble to find out where my local suppliers are, much appreciated, choobeydoo I take your point on the nautilus, shez I might give the 70/30 caramel a try, I thank you all very much for your replies and advice, after all these replies I think I will go for the v v voltage battery, (thanks djs and also try some different juices, I'm gradually learning what's what through you good people, keep it going. Jamesrd.

The evod kit comes with 5 spare heads. These screw into (and out of) the base that you remove to fill. Put a new one in You can try to remove the wick from the old head and replace with cotton wool. It is possible but not always successful. I would leave messing about with rewicking and coiling until you have the basics under your belt Tobacco and sweet juices do tend to gunk up the coil fairly quickly, until you are well away from the stinkies I would put a new one in at least once a week.
