Before vaping in the airport toilet, Clivia, ask if you're allowed to vape. I asked when I was flying & the answer was yes..... ...... so I sat reading my Kindle & puffing away, very civilised. Heard a chuckle, looked up & a guy grinned as he walked by, lifting the same gear as I was using in the cheers vapers salute. I wasn't allowed to vape on the plane, but for a 40min flight, I could cope.


I would rather not upset or turn anyone against us vapers, we don't need the added hassle, so ask first in bars, restos, airports etc. Shopping centres I don't ask, as they're normally airy & big, don't vape in shops though.

I generally don't vape where I wouldn't smoke. Some exceptions though.

Shopping centres and my car are the biggest. I still vape in my "man cave" in the house. Where I used to go to smoke. I generally don't vape elsewhere in the house. Especially with the new arrival in the house, but then she is only 4 weeks old, so she is always around. Very occasionally I would vape in the lounge if our eldest was in bed, and I hadn't seen the wife much that day, but it was very occasional.

Airports are another exception.  Whether I'm allowed or not, I generally go to the toilet for a cheeky vape.  Can't usually be bothered to explain it all to everyone who asks, and if I don't go outside for a vape, when will I ever get a break from downing a never ending procession of pints.

My work colleagues are all for it though. My boss is forever commenting on how I go outside to vape. And always comments that I could do it indoors. I find it more difficult to get a good skyve in though indoors, so unless it's lashing down, or brass monkeys, I'll go outside regardless.

I pretty much vape anywhere - pubs and restaurants I ask. But shops etc I like to make a game of seeing how well I can conceal the fact i'm vaping. Like the challenge of stealth vaping in odd places. Even when in whetherspoons I'd give it a good go. Never had someone ask me to stop so far, but if they did I'd respect it and play by their rules.

The biggest ' liberation ' for me, is vaping in bed . . . it just feels so wonderfully decadent and naughty!

With only the dog in my boudoir I don't have to worry about any etiquette.

I don't vape in the vets (had a vet trip yesterday)...vape at the GP's (in the toilet - no smoke alarm). For a good wee while I was vaping in the waiting room...patients just thought my e-cig was a nebuliser LOL

I don't vape on buses or trains. You have options. Either another way of getting your nic for a few hours or strong mints (NRT was the way I was thinking of getting your nic for a few hours)

I would vape on East coast trains though till they say otherwise.

Rain is fine if you have a mech mod. Vaped outside Glasgow SYHA hostel (they don't allow vaping indoors) in the rain with a magneto - no probs to mod

Myself and my girlfriend both vape, but only in the bedroom away from our 3 and 5 year old boys. They don't actually even know we vape. I exercise courtesy and don't vape around people eating or in small enclosed areas around non-smokers/vapers. Main places I do vape is in the cinema (a suprising number of people vape during the movies), the local boozer, in the car and anywhere around other vapers or smokers. I always make sure I ask wherever I visit if they don't mind me vaping, if I see other vapers I just assume it be an invitation.

A few months back I was giving my younger brother a lift to college and asked if he minded if I vaped with the window open, I was vaping mint flavor and it made him have a violent coughing fit and he's not asthmatic or anything. Ever since I've just been a little more careful because that could really upset someone who is an asthmatic.
