In those days, it was PROPER music by people who COULD play PROPERLY. My first rock band was The Sweet with Blockbuster, Hellraiser & Ballroom Blitz when I was SIX

Ah ... that'll be a "no" to that query, Ron, although that probably planted the seed in my head that I just HAD to be in a rock band at some point in the future, which I (sort of) WAS

I've got a few TOTP albums on vinyl. Remember having an enormous crush on Marc Bolan when I was knee high to 7 yrs old. Alvin Stardust scared me silly

Very nostalgic era, I was obsessed with Elvis Presley, didn't get into rock music until much later.

@spikeyfridge - now HERE'S something embarrassing - I used to borrow one of my mums glittery gloves so I could do the Alvin Stardust "finger point" whenever My Coo Ca Choo was on TOTP

decoy - exactly right - when people used to actually SPEAK to people FACE to FACE and phone them up on an old style phone dial thing that felt REALLY good when you slammed it down after an angry phone call

It was Frank Ifield for me ( how embarrassing) and does anyone remember the Mods and Rocker era? how I enjoyed the bank holiday battles on Brighton beach. I had my scooter with a fur tail on the back, a tiger in my tank sticker and of course my parka coat also with fur around the hood. When I met my now Husband he did nothing but laugh....he of course was a rocker with a 650 BSA lightning motor bike.

Crazy Horses was (and still is) one of the best tracks EVER in that era lol That clip was on the prog last night... brilliant. Spent the next hour or so on YouTube digging up so many others, so my early night turned into the opposite. Must resist tonight as I'm in work tomorrow.
