Hi folks, hope someone on here can help me put aside my worries..
So, got my hands on the fast tech Prometheus clone yesterday.. straight of the bat I'm noticing the air flow ring Is not held in place properly. No biggie, for twenty bucks I can forgive that. The air holes themselves are not very well drilled, again no biggie.. what's really got me worried is that it looks to me like one of the negative posts is actually touching the base of the positive post. This would be a big no no, no?
I built a very quick dual coil with mesh and 28g kanthal just to see it light up. It read 0.0 ohms gave it a poke then it read 2.8 ohms gave it another poke.. 0.7 ohms.. already I'm worried.. gave it some power and both my mod and the battery got real hot real fast.. took the whole thing to bits and left it alone. Any ideas?

Bump bump! No body have any thoughts? Been looking forward to chasing a few clouds with my first dual wick! Now I'm disappointed ????
Hopefully it's just something silly I've over looked and can be easily fixed..

The negative and positive should never meet! There should be an insulator on the deck on the positive post to keep it separate

From a quick look at the fasttech forum for this item (link below) it looks like you need to replace the two negative screws. Have a look on eBay for something with a smaller flat head (no bevel). www.fasttech.com/forums/1604512

Yeah, it sounds like a bit of a dud mcallister687. It might be rescuable, but it's going to take some tinkering. If it doesn't have an insulated centre post, that'll need replacing as well...

Center post is insulted all be it rather poorly... Can't understand why they would sell something that is so clearly not only dangerous but of a poor quality.. think I'm going to give FT some s%@t!
