Hi all, I had a firebox ( link) delivered last week and it's quite a weird little device and works quite well. It's a regulated mod but doesn't appear to have any vent holes for the battery. Has anyone spotted some venting I've missed? If not, is it safe to use? I wouldn't use a mechanical without vent holes but am unsure whether it should be ok with a protected mod. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Andy

Are you an engineer? Seriously though, looks an interesting device.

Mmm. Couldnt see any holes on the inside or outside of the battery compartment. I'll have another check when I get home. Thanks for your help. Andy

NOT Also see thisand it is still squonking away, one of the things to look out for though when squonking is not to let too much juice into the atty otherwise you end up with a mouthful of warm juice, especially if you use a small drip tip, it is also now supplied with 2 extra needled bottles. To be quite honest Trustfire/Ultrafire batteries are not so bad as long as you treat them right, use a decent charger keep an eye on them and test them before and after use, although I do tend to use eFests in it mostly

@boxy do you know for sure that it has no vent holes? Definitely no vent holes but as it is made in 2 pieces there is a joint all the way down the side where the battery sits, so in theory I suppose it could vent through the seam although I am not an engineer so couldn't possibly say for certain.

Sounds plausible. I'm using an a7/phoenix atty on it. It works well, just wish the button wasn't so difficult to press. Andy

The Battery is in a separate part of the body not like in a Reo, I have now taken mine apart and there is definitely seems to be no way a battery could vent safely: In those pictures above the thing actually looks like a pipe bomb and I wouldn't advise anyone to carry on using it until I get confirmation from Toby. I have asked on UKVapers.org where Toby from iVapour-Elixir has a presence to see if he can check with the supplier.

It would take very little skill to drill a couple of holes or slots into that tube or the bottom cap, it would certainly put your mind at rest and as its internal you will never see it Another +1 for squonking, I have a couple of V-Mods here that work on exactly the same principle and they are a terrific vape. For the life of me I have no Idea why I've never gotten a rio-grande ???

I will contact the manufacturer about this now.
I've put them out of stock until any info about its' venting capabilities can be confirmed and/or any possible lack of venting issues resolved.
If you have any concerns, I would advise not to use the device until any possible concerns are resolved.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
