Strong hit?

Hi all,

I'm a noob to posting on this board but have been reading as many threads as I can without bursting my brain!
One question I can't find an answer to is about hit strength. I like a good hit to the back of my throat but don't really want too high a nicotine content. Is this possible or do I need a high nic content for a stronger hit? What liquid should I be ordering?
I stopped smoking about 3 months ago using patches. Since I started vaping a month or so ago, I feel that I'm looking for a stronger 'hit'.
I bought my kit (Riva 1100) and juice from Jason (excellent service btw) and it seems like a decent bit of kit, certainly compared to the cheap auto e-cig I bought in Spain. I ordered 18mg nic (Menthol flavour) but the hit just isn't there, especially after 3 or 4 draws.
Looking through threads I've read about varying %'s of PG/VG. Will this make a difference to hit opposed to high nic content? If so, how/where can I get this?

Nicotine content does have a bearing on throat hit, but not as much as the PG/VG ratio and delivery method will do.

One solution is to try low resistance atomisers/cartomisers which do deliver an increased throat hit. If you have the Riva Kit, I would suggest staying at 2ohms as a minimum, which is covered by both the Boge and Kanger LR atomisers.

Adding a couple of drops of good quality Vodka can also help to increase the throat hit a bit.

I use a Riva Kit with dual coil carto's which gives me the best combination in my opinion. Menthol (for me) gives me the best throat hit especially the Cherry menthol from James at Paradise vapes. Buy a small bottle to try from him it's only £3! to try.

20mg juice at 5v does it for me
when i started vaping i was vaping 36mg @ 3.7v
also i think a good quality juice makes one hell of a difference

The juice that I have is a 70/30 PG/VG blend which should mean a stronger hit?? How does this compare to Grizwalds?
So, looks like the Kanger LR atomisers might be the next route to take.

Or the boges at 2ohms, Reason people aren't suggesting dual coils is that there has been a few instances where the switch on the riva has burnt out due to the extra current draw. The dual coils run at 1.5ohms and would provide a much stronger throat hit but you would be taking a chance on damaging your battery, that said - I have been using dual coils on my riva for a long time without issue.
With regards to grizwalds juice, a simple comment in the box when you order and griz will mix it however you want it
