First night out

Morning, last night I went out with a friend to Newcastle and managed to not have a cig I took my iTaste vv with a protank filled with vanilla mint, I didn't know how I would fare as when I am out drinking I used to smoke even more than normal. I was not allowed to vape in any of the pubs (I asked in most of them then gave up) apart from smoking areas in those that had them, little court yards at the back of the pub mainly which are so bad I avoided them when I smoked cigs. I got some funny looks tbh (glad I didnt take my hot pink spinner 2 out as it isnt as discreet looking lol). I was surprised to not see anyone vaping but some people seemed interested in giving up cigs and asked if vaping had worked which for me it has so far, am feeling rather proud of myself this morning .

It's a real shame that they make you stand with the smokers, although when that happened to me last Xmas it made me realise just how bad ciggies smell , especially later on in the night when the ashtrays filled up to overflowing , yuck !

I've only met one person vaping down the street in a month. No one in my local. At least it's a great outside area with patio stuff looking out over the harbour.

super super super elly2 - I am never discreet when vaping out and about - I use the one with the juice I fancy at the very moment - yes sometimes pple look - so what - but more than once I got a nice smile and the question : is this an e-cigarette ? does it work ? .... and am happy to respond .... let's be proud of vaping - no hiding please

Well done, there are still some times when I feel conscious, but lately I've not been that bothered especially with all the coverage of ecigarettes, people are now more aware of them. Good on you

well done elly2 I think Mrsmac and others are right. With all the coverage lately people are more accepting of vaping, and smokers are asking more about it when they see you vaping. Down here where I live there seems to be a lot of vapers. I get the bus everywhere as I don't have a car atm and see many at the bus stop vaping. I even saw a bus driver at the main busstop in town get out and have a vape on his ego kit before he started his run.

On social occasions, especially when you're out drinking, those are probably the times when we ALL smoked the most ciggies. You get in to a club/pub, get your drink and its straight outside for a smoke, sometimes you have 3-4 cigs per drink (at least that's how I use to be lol). As others have said a night out is one of the biggest hurdles for an ex-smoker to get over, but you did it so good on you.

Well done, elly2, that is one of the hardest times under your belt now & yes, next time, don't hide it, take your Spinner. When I'm out, I have two Spinners & ProTanks hanging from lanyards around my neck.
