And don't worry about asking questions - we were all new at it once! My post count is largely made up of asking the same sort of questions myself

EDIT. Homemade should be fine. I have gone to 14 watts before on a Protank.

wont 11.75 watts give me a burning taste as i only vape at 8 watts at the moment and anything over about 10watts i get a burnt taste ? The burnt taste is because your coil can't wick fast enough to keep it with the speed you are vaping the juice. It's all down to your wick, not the amount of power you're putting through it. What material are you using as wick? Is it a homemade coil, or a shop-bought one? Cotton wool is a very efficient wick, even in a protank style head. i will be using cotton and yes homemade with 25 kanthal

Higher resistance will give you less watts at 4.2v a 2.4 coil will heat using 7.35 watts. VxV/R=P(watts) Here is a guide that explains volts watts and resistance and also has ohms laws to help with the numbers. vv/vw guide. You can use ohms law calculator so you don't need to do the maths.

Make sure your cotton isn't too tight on the coil, and is nicely fluffed up at either side and you'll be enveloped in vapey clouds of nom in no time

Why not get yourself a kick to put in your mech. Set it to the wattage you like to vape at. It will give you a consistent vape until the battery gets to low and then cut the power. No worring about over discharing the battery.

No worring about over discharing the battery. Maybe I misunderstood the kick. The kick gives you short circuit protection, A constant wattage that you set.....and it stops firing when too low? I never knew that...off to look at one now intheblim I got my first mech mod and was worried as when I used to use standard ego back in the day a freshly charged batty would give a burnt taste. Fast forward and aft using VW and VV I find that I like my vape at a standard 3.7v of 7.5-8w. So I build my coils to between 1.8 and 2ohms. When I put them on the mech there is no burn just plumes of vape

I daily use an Evolve kick 2 in a nemesis with an 18650 with aerotanks.
It gives a constant vape. I'm even thinking of getting another. A good investment.
