Never been with Talk Talk to many stories of being crappy
EE-- was with them for 5 months told them to stuff it-- billing problems nothing near speed should get ,disconnects
SKy- with them for years sorted most problems out-- but ended up by being with them paying more for basic +plus net /phone,than daughter was paying for full package in net/phone-----was going to swap to just fibre but £50 instal fee[think they ditched it now] £54 pm
BT_ first month got cut off-endless billing, package raised by £10pm within a yr,ended up getting ofcom involved, net was good on-was paying £51pm
Plusnet fibre/24/7 phone- had a first stumble not connected for 2 weeks after original date,on plus side had a problem fibre speed was crap, found use the forum near on instant solved, not dropped at all----cost less than BT by near on £20 pm discounted £32.99 for 9 then £39.99
As for stutter this maybe not be there fault this can be where its routed to ,to your router a hub in link could be problem they have no control where it goes, also Router can be problem,Plustnet technics[fibre] one is not that brill, and have read 20% increase with a good router
to give you an idea i game on a NY server sometimes the problem lays at that end, traced it once -my house-london-Germany California-Dallas Ny - NY---it was middle NY data center cause my ping to raise and cause me to stutter.
As mentioned it is good to turn of and reset the router now and again [only if using original wep/wap key or you will have to redo it] basic spring clean it!,if you have a username/password,look at upgrading routers, a lot of the newer ones now use PPOe[no user /pw needed linked to phone and hidden] but you will have to manually change a newer one if software does not do it..
Now with Sky if you have one of the antique old white router you can search there forum theres a prog linked that will crack the router Pw/User name,i know i did it lol and used a lot better router......
If you want to do a trace[sky get you to do it to see if there a prob with hub on router]
you can use this ip[its game server for Battlefield 4 i play on] if your having a problem with a web page use whois.com to find ip---to do a trace
Start click on run-type CMD hit enter or start- Accessories -command prompt
type in tracert then space followed by ip numbers you only use first 4 blocks
192.223.27.232 then press enter[return]
if you see a big jump in middle thats where problem may be with getting a stream etc, note in this copy london jumps to 115:
