From the link: Norbert is doing an Efest by using the Max rate and not the continuous rate in the description Only go by the Continuous Discharge Rate

Ecolux are normally reliable, so why not just drop them an email. Make your decision by how fast their responce is and what advice they are prepared to give.

Does that mean there basically the same as sony vtc 4 and 5 then? They are not higher discharge than the VTCs, I don't know these batteries so can't really comment further than that, but I have some VTC4s from the same seller (and some Panasonics) which I would happily recommend to anyone.

There's only about four companies that make the batteries and the rest are just wrapped in a different label, I suspect they're probably some dangerously labelled things. Like the efest things, the 30 amp ones are sony vtc's which is fine but the 35 amp ones are actually wrapped 20 amp LG's
Personally I'd be pretty suspicious of any such claims as a 50 amp battery for now until at least more info started to appear on line amongst vape groups and in battery tests.

As this is a public space and people of all levels of background knowledge can read it I advised what I feel is correct and safest. The problem of relying on the pulse rate is if you you mod gets activated without you being aware (you sit on it, forget to lock it, ... etc) that could be continuous and then you are beyond the safe limits. Also as the battery ages I would expect (don't know categorically) that these limits would lower. Sure if nothing goes wrong you should be OK. Sorry if you know some or all of this, but trying to answer for all levels of knowledge.

I was not being argumentative ( I know makes a change ) it was a genuine question asked out of curiosity, yes if battery is activated in the way you say could be problem, but to even hit 30 amps on 4.1 volts coil has to be 0.13 resistance Why go by the continuous discharge rate ? continuous means from start to finish in one go, you only ever vape in short bursts You can be holding that button for a good while with lung hits though and that's fairly continuous, maybe 5-10 seconds sometimes, got to remember that these sort of batteries are aimed at sub ohmers who like to make big clouds. 5-10 seconds is short bursts , when a battery is rated continuous that means it should be able to pull 30 amps from full charge to full discharge

fiddles I didn't think u were being argumentative, but I was trying not to come over as such myself (its too easy to accidently start an argument on-line) and there is nothing wrong with asking for the reasoning behind advise/assertions/claims/etc. There are at least two issues: 1. Comparing like with like: the de-facto figure seems to be the continuous and it's important that we all can understand our kit as easily as possible. 2. Safety: nothing new to add here, just reiterate that ppl of all knowledge levels can read here, accidents do happen & better safe than sorry. Please accept my congratulations of your forthcoming nuptials, is it you or teeth that gets to ware white?
