One of the first things I changed out on my mtb was the pedals I got the shimano spd's which means that my shoes clip into the pedals, one of the first times I went out I forgot to unclip my shoes at a set of traffic lights and I came to a stop and fell over still clipped to my bike, I felt a right idiot I could see myself doing similar so not off to even try clip on type lol. Plus would look a bit daft I reckon on mine.

I'm sure Chris Hoy himself said a £100 mountain bike is just as good as anything else, the more expensive ones are like designer clothes Probably right, but great having a light bike when carrying up steps etc

Probably right, but great having a light bike when carrying up steps etc Carrying up steps? Are you mental? You're supposed to pedal up the steps man! Steps I'm on about are mostly stairs..... Did attempt some fairly non steep steps, about ten in a row, other week whilst trying to find a shortcut.... This would of been nothing when I was younger.... Completely arsed it up, hit first step at speed whilst lent to far forward I guess.... Suspension compressed and did a endo, good job no one was watching. Doh

LOL reminded me, had one of the first first BMX bikes in UK, as motorcross rider was pretty handy on it, zoom forward 30 years going to show my other half how you ride down stairs, bit of untangling of bike, bruised arm and ego learnt not so clever anymore lol MP
