Just to be clear, the one linked to in that thread (the silver one), does read voltage and resistance fine. It will tell you the voltage of the battery and the resistance of the atty at the same time. The strange thing is that when you put an atty on, the voltage reading doesn`t alter. You would expect it to drop by a few tenths of a volt approx.

jackcustard I have tried these in vv/vw device and it reads 6.2v with a flickering screen. Its the frequency modulation of vv/vw mods that causes this because as robby knows you get a pulsed 6v and its just the frequency of the pulse that changes. In a mech they work fine as the voltage is constant and not a modulated higher voltage.

It must use a different method to give the VV. Mine is a V1 so only VV. jackcustard just tried the meter in the stingray and found that it wont work with the positive end of battery facing down on the button. turned the battery around and put a 5mm magnet on negative end and it works ok. So will only work if positive is on the centre pin.

The positive is on the centre pin on the gizmo. Isn't it?
