Just had a look and notice it will not work with PWM devices. otherwise looks perfect for mech mods and the like. Press me for detailsMuch better price from FT though. £19 in the uk. eeek

I think you are probably right ruffdog , but I am intrigued by "Simply screw the tankometer onto your device and press fire and it will display the voltage of your battery - if it’s a variable voltage device it will show exactly what voltage it is outputting". I wouldn`t expect it to work on PWM, but you never know At that price it is a must for mech mod users though

It`s not the same one buggritt, this is much better for mod voltage drop The one you linked doesn`t show voltage drop for some reason. It shows the unconnected voltage. I have no idea how they managed it though.

Ah - got you. I'm a lazy buggritt. I just read the reviews re voltage drop and that will do for me.

I think the FT one (second link) will only go down to 1ohm, if your build is less (even accidentally, eg short on the coil) you'll likely kill the tester. The one that M-Vapes sell for a tenner goes down to 0.3ohms and does voltage drop (and shouldn't take 2 months to arrive!!) www.m-vapes.co.uk/store/p1/M-Vapes_Volt_Meter__Measure_Voltage_Drop.htmlEDIT: I know vapenquit sell the same device also for £10, and probably a fair few other vape sellers

I have mine orderred, so I`ll check it when it comes. The other one I posted works fine with .75 ohm coils and I dont see any reason why this one wont work as it`s just reading voltage, there is very little current actually running through the chip, might even modify the other one if I can get it to bits

robby, this one: www.fasttech.com/products/0/10007990/1704302-e-cigarette-resistance-voltage-testerLED display screen Voltage: DC 3V-6V Resistance range: 1-9.5ohmNon-load output current: 2.8mA Maximum current: 4A I can't remember who said it, but I'm sure there was a discussion of the same tester on here, where it was mentioned that straying outside the ohm range could damage the tester EDIT: i emailed Matt at mvapes about the one he sells, and he told me it's fine down to .3, so I ordered one!!

I can vouch for the Tobeco version Matt sells. Although i've not tested it to see what resistance it will cope with, it's pretty damn accurate when comparing with the multimeter.
Looks better made than the FT version too, though FT have never shone when it comes to pictures!

I think they are all using the same chip, cant be certain about it though. I am using the one you quote as I speak and it`s working fine down to .7ohm, probably beyond that. I dont use anything lower than that

One I made earlier I made that out of the chip and an old Vivi Nova just over a year ago (I think the buggers copied me lol). I think the display was less than a quid at the time. It still works, but only down to one decimal point. The red lead can be removed and an ampmeter hooked up so I could get amp readings as well. One and a half ohms was adventurous in those days lol. How things have moved on
