As per the title, just been in for something, and I spied a display of e-cig stuff.....

...it was their Puritane gear....

...posh blister pack with one cig-a-like battery, usb charger, and two xl cartos...

....I thought to myself, on first glance, "good for them"....


...then I looked at the price



...£22:99 !!!!!!!



I walked out of there with my X6/PT-II/airflow controller in my hand, giggling

I really don't think they can do that.

The thing that leads me to this conclusion is they haven't banned the sale of cigarettes , which for the government is a big tax collection service , and will not happen, not in my lifetime anyway , UNLESS the government wants our country to turn into a place like that at the start of the film "Demolition Man" and what a sad and lonely place that would be !!

Exactly, banning cigarettes removes a vast tax income but allowing people to convert to vaping also means less smokers so less tax income. Again big pharma also stand to lose out if vaping isn't restricted, all of a sudden nicotine patches, gum, sprays etc are removed from the equation as well as all the drugs used to treat illnesses caused by smoking.
A lot of the cig-a-likes are produced by pharmaceutical companies so if liquids/tanks etc are restricted they win again and I dare say thay have quite a bit of influence on certain government decissions.
Sadly money talks and smoking makes a lot of money for a lot of people!

3 years ago when I started vaping the cheapest kit you could get was a Janty ego starter pack , 2 batteries , 2 atties , a pack of atty tips and a bottle of juice (10ml) for a nice price of £50 , and that was probably one of the cheapest starter kits at the time + a charger ... oops

And you think £22.99 is expensive

Ouch... but only 7-8 cigarettes in nicotine, so don't panic, you won't OD on these beauties.

A bargain @ £8.99 for two.

Who's the marketing guru at Boots? "Puritane" = an amalgam of two existing product/brand names - Butane (lighter fuel) and Purina (cat food) - so they've made an ecig that tastes, smells of burning cat food.

My first proper ' upgrade ' from the DSE901 was a Riva/Ego starter kit ( atomiser's only then ) . . . . cost, £54.99.

I loved it, thought it was the best thing ever invented.

such is the nature of technology....as it improves, it gets mass-produced and therefore cheaper. Who'd have thought a device like a vamo could come down to £12 ?!?!?!?
