i have some juice 36mg but vape at medium so 16-18mg so brought some glycerin BP from boots to dilute it, its PG juice from Liberty flights and paradise vape and was going to buy some flavouring from HC. anyway i typed in my variables into ejuice recipe calculator but the percentages dont quite follow as it says 50% PG and nic but that doesnt include the flavouring already present. i was going to half the flavouring to be added and replace with water(as half the flavouring is already in the original mix) but am unclear of how much VG to add as i dont know how much the original mix has for flavour. if the original flavouring is 5% then the pg nic mix would only make up 45% and therefore would affect the VG/PG ratios(if that makes sense). can anyone help me with this and what %age overall flavour should be.

If you start off with 36mg and wish to reduce it to 18mg then you would need to dilute with equal parts of VG or PG, i.e. 10ml 36mg + 10ml PG/VG.
As for adding any flavouring you would need to subtract the percentage of the flavouring you add from the PG/VG you use to dilute your original mix.....
........ so let's say your going to add 10% of flavouring then you would use 10ml of your 36mg + 8ml of PG/VG + 2ml flavouring = 20ml finished juice.
You don't need to take into account the flavouring present in your 36mg juice.

ok thanks. why dont i need to take into account the flavour in the original mix as i thought this was between 5-15%? also also the nic would take up some percentage too. one of the bottles says its 75% PG (without no VG) so flavour and nic is 25%. so techinically it would be 75%divide 2+=37.5..so VG add should be 37.5% and then flavour and diluting agent(water or alcohol) would total 12.5%......so if i were to use 10% flavour then 2.5% would be water/alcohol. or am i way off here?
also what is a good percentage for flavour...i was just guessing at 10%?

Griz to the rescue I just squeeze "some" of one into the other and hope for the best. That got me into trouble when I must have put too much Perfumers Apprectice Pecan into VW Butterscotch BM1, ended up with white glue clagging up the works

As your diluting your original 36mg liquid whatever is contained within it is already taken into account to make up a 36mg finished liquid so theres no need to worry about percentages of flavouring(s), PG/VG or water that is already present.

Just to add, as far as adding extra flavouring goes that is really down to your own preffered taste.
Not all flavourings are equal, for example if you were wanting to add say Caramel then the ammount of flavouring you would use would depend on who you purchase your Caramel from, some are far more concentrated than others.
As I don't know what flavouring you are going to use I would suggest starting with 5% and adding more if necessary.
You can always add more but you can't take it away.

ah thats great griz thanks for your help. i thought if there was more VG than PG then the attys would get clogged up or cartos ruined and the flavour disappear
is that start with 5% of flavour of the whole mix or 5% ofwhat i add ie for 20ml add 1ml or 1/2 ml?.
as for flavouring,
im getting lemon from health cabin and using it with lemon flavoured ejuice and also a pear flavoured ejuice(as i hate pears) so hopefully drain it out a bit. im guessing it quite a strong flavour but not enough to hide other flavours. i also have a B&H flavoured juice...as HC dont have any tobacco flavours is there any you would recommend to go with it?

I would add 5% as part of the whole 20ml finished liquid and add more as required.
If you are going to use VG as a dilutent then I would suggest you read my guide to mixing, there you'll find a section on using PG and VG which will help you as far as thinning your VG prior to use.
I find Health Cabin flavourings to be a little weak in most cases, but a 5% start point would still be a good idea, as I stated earlier you can always add more flavouring, but you can't take it away.
As far as your B&H juice goes it would be trial and error there I'm afraid as to what tobacco flavouring would taste OK to you.
Having said that though you might want to try some of the FlavourArt tobacco concentrates, available from Liberty Flights, but be very careful using these as they are extremely concentrated and you may find that 1 or 2 drops added to 30ml of your B&H juice would be more than adequate. Again I cover the use of FlavourArt tobacco concentrates in my mixing guides.
Good luck.

thanks for the advice grizwald....gave it ago yesterday, i keep forgetting to get vodka and then thought $&£ it and just mixed it without. i put 3.3ml of lemon flavouring from HCin a 20ml mix with 7ml VG and 10ml premix and its useless, cant taste a thing. anyway was in tescos today and got dr oetker vanilla flavorung(not the extract) as ive read on the forum this is quite good for a supermarket one and i have couple of tobacco juices i cant stand plus was only 58p. i put marlbor juice in a carto id be using with butterscotch the other day and was vast improvement over just marlboro.
