I know that it's been recommended to clean battery and charger contacts with vodka but I don't have the money this week!! I do however have several bottles of alcohol containing mouthwash!! Would this be a good substitute??

Just a bit of rolled up kitchen paper and a bit of elbow grease would do a reasonable job, if you took your time and was meticulous until finances allowed. Then as Karma says get some Isopryl Alcohol as a first choice or Vodka as a second choice. We recommend Vodka as most people will have some in the cupboard.

like me... But I bought a small bottle of isopropyl alcohol because I loathe using up my vodka I did happen to notice that B&M stores in town sell little tiny plane sized bottles of vodka for under £1, one of them should do you fine but I dont clean contacts weekly, just when they look manky or vape seems weak

Just give it a rub on your tshirt and drink the vodka. Works great

Meths would be better than vodka, also pencil eraser if they are really grubby. I doubt that mouthwash has enough alcohol.

I keep a good stock of IPA just for cleaning. Around £10 a litre from your local maplin. Only bought one 3 months ago and still 1/2 full (had to soak a magneto)). Next time you're passing with change in your pocket possibly the best cleaning investment you could make.
*edit*
Don't use the mouthwash, there's other stuff in there that we don't know about.

An old toothbrush is good for cleaning external threads.

have you got any gin, bacardi any alcohol, meths, white spirit, vodka is suggested because it's odourless and colourless, personally would drink the alcohol and use one of the others, i have a large bottle of isopropyl as i use it for sugar craft

Another cheap option is alcohol wipes (as used before injections) like these on ebay

So Guinness won't be any good then? Bah.... Everybody knows that Guiness is a miracle life giving liquid so to involve it in vaping apart from drinking while vaping is a waste bad enough that it should be illegal

I have no experience of the product you linked to but I suspect it may leave quite a lot of oil behind. The product that is most used in the Electrmechanical world is called Servisol and can be found in Maplins link but even this should be used sparingly, I'd just use Isopryl Alcohol and a shall brush to do the cleaning as it would not leave any residue. Or a VERY good contact Cleaner is the Eraser on the end of a Pencil and it is small enough to get down into a 510 connector.

Another cheap option is alcohol wipes (as used before injections) like these on ebay I use alcohol wipes to clean the outside of my mods and ego batteries as well as the external threads and find they work great! I get them with my medication and was told they aren't really needed for subcutaneous injections so have some spare
