Loving the little 4nine clone I bought so I decided I needed another and the cheapest route was to make one. Its only partly finished so far but at the stage it all goes together and works so I thought I`d share a few pics. I decided I wanted something slightly fatter for a bit more to hold onto so at the moment its 30mm on the tube od. Length is currently 59mm but I made it overly long to work out how I wanted it to be , I will be shortening it by 8-10 mm give or take now I have worked out how much I want the button to move and how long the end caps needed to be . Things still to do, decide how I want the body tube to look . Might just knurl it ?? , Maybe put some flutes in it ? Dunno not decided yet, Chop the tube down to get rid of the excess length. Drill the tube with some vent holes. Probably alter the button to take a bigger / stronger magnet (used what I had and it might be a bit soft). Then the hard bit decide what colour it should be . Could flute it , groove it and anodise it green so it looks like a grenade ?

I always fancied a mod that was knurled for use at my bench at work so it would not slip out of my hands and into whatever I was working on but I agree the finish is down to personal choice and only you can work that out decide what you are going to put on top and go from there great looking mod though

Cheers Fellas, I`ll do some thinking before the weekend and I finish it . Knurling appeals to me ronaldo for the same same reason . Might drill it for a for a leather neck cord too . Drilling the tube is on the agenda geordie_vaper As soon as I decide the finished tube look I`ll know where best to drill so it looks right

If I just go for vents and no cord I`ll probably do them at an angle so they look like a feature and not just a bunch of holes ronaldo . Or I could hide them in the button ? Too many things to decide but as with most things I make I only have a slight plan then make it up as I go. I`m sure after much more beer the answer will come to me just as I fall asleep

I was thinking of some big fat flutes being as its a fat mod ? Still in decision mode. Might do it a bit like this tank cage I made? Maybe Ive considered the up and down sides of being a mod maker and being allowed to sell the odd bit here and there , unfortunately I think it would just lead to stress and take the fun out of making stuff. I just make bits for fun and being a mod maker would make it seam like real work I need making things to be a release from work

That look lovely. Re grip & knurling I put o'ring in the groves of my Astros (there is a pic in the thread in my sig). Also have a permanent lanyard point on the DNA I made which now has a double bit 400 lb fishing line with a double lanyard knot to easily and very securely hold it. If you want a few metres of the fishing line PM me and I can bring to VapeFest or post.

Now thats not a bad plan at all VapingBad . Ive got a shed load or orings kicking about in the shed Ive never considered using fishing line to attach a lanyard , what a cool idea. It will make the needed hole so much smaller than the leather I have. I`ll see how the ideas pan out for the weekend but might have to scrounge a bit off you if I go that way Cheers Fella
