Is this a good starter kit for building coils?

So i found this on ebay.. Coil Kit Is this a good kit? 

Id previously bought some  Premade coils but theyre tiny and a little bit pooy Also bought some cotton wool 100% boiled it and its just not preforming that well so im thinking it could be the crappy coils lol.. (still have a muted flavour and high cotton taste after a few tanks)

Or would it be cheaper to buy things individually..

Im wanting to buy from the UK though i have no patience for abroad materials ))

Err... Im willing to try? making my own coils as long as it isnt a costly start out lol..  ???

Should have also said/ any scissors or clippers will do.
Use the gas stove or cooks torch for heating coils.

I use a Christmas cracker screwdriver to wrap coils on - you can use anything that is the rightish size. Do you have access to a 2mm drill bit - they are just right for starting.

You'll also need a multimeter or device that can measure the resistance. (Multimeter would be £3-4 on fleabag for a cheaply)

It's a little overpriced, especially considering how little wire you get - but not a terrible place to start.

You may be better getting your tweezers and nail clippers from a supermarket - mine came from sainsburys and do me fine. Get their cotton wool as well, 100% natural cotton! organic makes no difference. Don't buy from Asda, it has a weird taste - the rest is fine.
Get yourself a 2mm drill bit - you may have one in a tool box somewhere already
You don't really need the blowtorch IMO

If you're getting cotton wool taste, you may have slightly too much wool in the coil, or it may be twisted too tight, or you may just be better buying a different brand.

I have tweezers, nail clippers and My itaste which i can use to measure the resistance.

Having problems with the wool, ive tried using less in different variations but it always floods out.. the only successfull rewick i can do i have to use a bit more but it just seems to mute the flavour. but im not using insane amounts lol..

So drill bit, wire, needle and some sort of lighting device..

Can you post a photo of one you've done? Someone may be able to help you better then.

For evods, as we both said, a 2mm drill bit is ideal. Then, its a case of playing with the cotton so it wicks well, but doesn't leak.
Once you've got the cotton through the coil, try carefully kinda back combing it, to fluff it up and make it fatter where it comes out of the head. And not too much in the actual coil. But you must have enough in the coil. You'll get there!

I use asda little angels cotton pads and some random cotton from the vet. I don't wash it.

Actually scrub that link to the cotton...they now charge you postage which makes it about 4 quid a bag, it used to be free,,, they can keep it....lol

There is no way in a million years i would be paying someone to wrap coils for me... you can do it yourself, just takes a little practice and there is plenty of info on here on how to do it..... and its all Freeeeeeeeeeeeee

Pixilocks your recoiling a Mini Protank 3 , yes ? How many coils are you putting into the build , 1 or 2 ?

Do you have an Evod or Protank 2/Protank 2 Mini to practice on as they are only a single coil and a lot easier to get right , even though I made a cock up last week on one ?

I say this because the vids I've watched with the dual coil , coil heads seem quite a bit harder to do, at least if you get one of the single coil ones right you know your wicking is ok , then that just leads to spacing between the coils on a dual coil build and the flooding you're experiencing now.

Someone with a lot better idea will probably come along and straighten out my mistakes , lol

Hit up Greigster for one of his Coil Buddies - it's incredibly good for microcoiling, and has added goodies like pre-drilled 510 sockets to plonk your atty in while wicking

If you have a Wilkinsons near you Pixilocks go to the baby aisle and pick up a bag of Organic Cotton Wool, 100 cotton balls for £1.57 will last for a long time. It's what I use and doesn't taste funny. Failing that go into Boots and buy some of their Botanics stuff, ideally you want organic cotton wool, but I hear Sainsbury's cotton wool is OK too.

Regarding the size of the cotton wick, it takes a little while to get it right and is probably the hardest part of recoiling, but, you should roughly roll a small strip thick enough to thread through the coil, it doesn't want to be rolled tight, but it needs to be loose enough to pull through the coil and tight enough to not be pulled out too easy, so not too tight and not too loose if you know what I mean.

It's hard to explain but hope it gives you a rough idea at least and you'll have plenty of cotton wool to practice with.

Vape mesh now sell cotton so you could get that when ordering the kanthal. Never tried it but heard good things.

From what I can gather it's quite thick so whilst it may look like a small amount it separates and there's enough to make a crap ton of wicks. Hope I've explained that correctly.
