Fasttech import tax

I've never had to pay tax on my orders but an order I did for a friend was nabbed. Our import tax is on any item over €22. The item I ordered was €28. They emailed me and asked for a fasttech or paypal receipt or they would estimate tax due for themselves. I emailed the invoice and was charged €6 tax and €6 handling charge. It was still a bargain. I've since ordered another one of the same for myself and got it through without charge.

Not paid any import tax on 5 fastech and 2 US orders a while back I bought an audio card that was $240 and that got through as well.

Worth remembering how the exchange rate plays - it's been favourable for a while but may become less so....

Err - favourable? Hmmm - my relatively insignificant savings are partly in USD and I would love to see the exchange rate become less FastTech favourable soon (before I have to drag the monies back).

Ive ordered quite a few things from fasttech, some around the $100 area and never had customs. My sat order came to about $60 and the parcel was marked as gift with value $4.50

I am loathed to tempt fate but I have never had any charges on the many packages from China....gotta be at least 9.....

I got one today with gift on it.... never had to pay for my own gifts before but hey ho...
