Hi, I seem to have a problem with these threads stripping/ degrading ( on two tanks from different vendors ) to the point they won't screw onto the vamo. Because the Mech has a floating center pin ( so the top of the thread catches ) I can still use them fine on that and one of my old ego batteries - is anyone else having problems with them or have I just done something wrong?

Are you sure you haven't wrecked the thread on the Vamo, it is their weak point

Agree with Q .. a lot of people are or were putting airflow controlers on the top to save the threads from wear.

Yes its more likely that the threads on the vamo are wearing as they are a brass type mix and the threads on the atty are stainless. Get one of these and put it on the vamo. SS airflow I cant guarantee it will work as the threads may be too far gone and the the airflow may just spin as well. I used one of these on my VTR and tightened it down so it doesn't unscrew with I take the tank off. (VTR has the same soft thread material)

If the thread has gone too far and even the airflow controller will not work you could get replacement heads for the Vamo from StealthVape. I have not linked to it as they are showing OoS at the moment.
If the 510 thread goes west on a VTR then creeks and a lack of paddles springs to mind!!

I've found that the threads on the afc base aren't the best, and different combos of base & vamo may need to be tried to get one to work. Also, I got 2 afc bases from ft, both genuine kangers, threads were borked on one out of the box
