Coils that pop and sizzle!

Silly question really (ain't all of mine!) but recently I have been noticing that my coils are...well...a bit on the quiet side!

i have been building my own with kanthal using .28 gage but not sure when it happened but none of my coils seem to produce that pop and sizzle in the kayfun, am I doing something wring? Do your coils pop and sizzle?

Sometimes they do, but not all of my builds are "Rice Crispies" coils

I'm not sure what the criteria are - I think it's a wick that saturates very quickly, and a coil that heats up quickly - so the thinner the wire and the lower the ohms, the better the chance of getting some popping. I might be very wrong on the physics of this though...

i like the pop i know i'm getting vape that way but they don't pop and sizzle all the time

Lol, I feel almost comforted by a loud coil, the ther half's coil in the aerotank makes crazy noises and mine is so quiet sometimes I have to check that I fired the button!

On a side note, I do find that the .28 coils take longer to heat up than the .25 I was using, is there any reason I shouldn't use .25 in the kayfun beside longetivity?

there is no right or wrong with that mrsmac use whatever works best for you

On one of my atties that has juice control ive noticed that my coil pops and crackles if its open too much so I think its down to too much juice in the wick causing it to boil before it gets turned to vapour.

I find the popping and sizzling very comforting, because I associate it with a great vape. Loads of vapour and plenty flavour

Mrsmac if you're happy with the vape then it really doesn't matter.
