OK I've done something bad.
I was cleaning the Kayfun lite plus out and for some unbeknown reason decided to stick a pin through the side airhole. now everything's reading 0.0ohms. I've tried rebuilding and nothing. Have i broke it?

I doubt it's broken - possibly some adjusting needed. If it was me I would take it apart and check everything fits together correctly.

Maybe you managed to loosen the centre post with the pin or turn it a little and the positive pole on the deck has twisted a little and shorted on the negative post

My money is on a piece of swarf from the airflow hole is shorting to the centre post.
As has been said, completely dismantle the device, including the build deck by unscrewing the centre pin. Give it a damned good clean, removing all swarf and foreign bodies.
Then, hopefully, Bob's yer Aunt Fanny's husband!

So stripping down the deck, cleaning through every hole with a rolled up tissue seemed to do the trick. No visable fault or blockage. Weird
Thanks for the help everyone

Well you've either disturbed and removed the scarf as Fred suggested or rectified the deck issue through a rebuild. Great that you've fixed it, enjoy

i what i did notice is the centre pin you unscrew has a hole that i think lines up with the airhole. maybe in jamming the needle tip in there I somehow forced the centre pin to unscrew itself slightly. everything was tight though. it remains a mystery

It's pretty critical those air holes are aligned and you can tighten the centre pin really tight to ensure there aligned and won't move IF you have a genuine kayfun.some of the clone centre pins have been known to snap when tightening.
