OK... I've chickened out, just ordered a Spinner 2 plus some clearo heads. Damn did I miss persuading you Raffles? Nope, it'll always come in useful as a backup. I just need to know if there is a mega difference and what that difference is, especially the clearos, because what I've got does the job, so .... ???

Raffles I'd say if your happy with what you have stick with it. The only caveat being they do have a defined life so maybe consider some long life mods and atties maybe from China should you need to resort to them in the not too distant future. I think it's only a matter of time.

My first E-cig was and is a V1 Spinner, and it goes with me to work every day and I'm a plumber mostly working on building sites, so it tough and reliable, although I'm always a little worried that I'm going to snap it half , lol . Which is why I'm tempted to get a VTR , but the only thing that puts me off is the price, as it's not just the mod price it's adding a charger and 2 batteries to that price.
You're using your V1 at home , then stay with it, people get used to what they know and like. As far as tanks go , I have a Protank 2 ( now with the V2 air controller ) and a couple of Mini Protank 2's and EVOD's.The Protank 2 and the Mini Protank 2 NEED the V2 air controllers and they really are very good , standard their ok to good but with the V2 air controllers their fantastic.Being able to adjust the air through is a must and can really improve the taste a great deal.I recoil the coils myself and that also has a great improvement to , but each to their own, recoiling might not be your thing, but quite tight and didn't like the price of the coils and saw the thread on here and a couple of Youtube videos and did it myself.
In the end you have to be comfortable with what you get, we can all make suggestions but in the end it's what feels right for you.

Anything with an airflow controller will make a difference Raffles. Why not get a PT2 and an AFC to try one out inexpensively? Would look great on your Spinner 2. The ZMax wouldn't make a massive difference to your vape, if the Spinner 2s are as good as reported, so unless you want the shiny bling-ness of a regulated mod, stick with what you know you like, but definitely try a PT2 + AFC... Clivia will tell you

OK lairey... you witch of all wisdom... the Zmax or the VTR... which is it to be. You do realise I meant 'witch' in the nicest sense, being the source of all knowledge. (Don't think this creeping is helping)... too much Lucozade!

(Don't think this creeping is helping)... too much Lucozade! You're lucky I've had a few too! Although Mr Lairey is always calling me a witch! It depends if you think you'll like the box size of the VTR. I don't have one, so can't extol it's virtues, so I'll leave that to someone else, but for me, the ZMax is far more versatile in that it will take any size of 18xxx battery, flat or nipple top with no problem and any size atty. If it were me, I'd go for the ZMax, but then I do have 4, so may be a little biased

VTR gets my vote mainly because i've just bought one today myself, after deliberating and then finding one going at a very good price, from a website that i realised had a store quite locally to me, so if i had any problems could take it back there myself,

just to throw a possible spanner into the musings, for small, tough and reliable, have you ( Raffles Montana or anyone else) considered the X6? Current fave of mine, and only £5-odd from fasttech, and in a big range of colours... got 2 black ones (more expensive than all the others at circa £8), just ordered this electric blue beauty for Mrs G-J:- www.fasttech.com/products/1741305

I'd honestly stick to spinners if you're happy. Once you get a mod you're forever eying up other mods and shinyitis kicks in and it's all downhill from there!

how about an mvp - light and cheerfull - not too expensive and long battery life when charged and yes now we are talking about the protank 2 and it's a must to have the air flow controller with you - both cheapest at myepack - advantage of pt2 - it's easy to clean - it's glass - so any liquid is fine and the coils are easy to make - and the airflow controller makes it a nice and great vape already a long time ago I decided that I will now explore more liquids than hardware - as I don't notice any great difference between the various mods

That does look good , but what I'm looking for is two fold , first was either the VTR or similar mod that has protection of the tank and threads and secondly something that has variable wattage as ( well it does for me ) it seems to taste nicer, don't ask me why, because I don't know , lol.
As I said , I'm in a bit of a dilemma because I like the VTR for both the reasons above, is just the extra expense of batteries and charger that are stopping me and I also haven't found anything that protects the tanks like a VTR does.In my line of work and I would say a lot of other construction workers we need something that is tough and it only seems to be the VTR that fits the bill.If there was more choice I think other construction workers would change to E-Cigs as there seems to be a very high percentage of smokers on a construction site.
