How to spot a fake Sony VTC5 battery

I recently bought 2 VTC5 batterys from ecoluxshop www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181415656410?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Who is a trusted seller from what I understand but still thought worth checking.

My batteries are, I'm pleased to say genuine if this article is correct.

Since I am using high amps fairly regular its good to know that my batteries are 30amps sonys and not fake.

Anyone got any links to other fake vs real battery websites/posts? might be good to collate in one thread.

Thankfully, you bought from a good vendor.

I was speaking to an "industry" expert last week (I am thinking about starting a Li-ion import business, not just e-cig applications) and he says over 90% of ebay batteries are fake. Everything from Panasonic to Efest to Sony. He thinks it is possible ALL of the AWs are fake.

That seam looks like a battery that has had it`s protection removed. I dont think the seam is on the sleeve (heat shrink tubing usually)

I see FT have the genuine ones back in stock, but 4 dollars more than they were for two. Still okay at £11-50 for two though. I wouldn`t take a chance on the shipping now though with the delays, problems etc.

I chucked 2 panny 3400 in my order last week, only got one shipping option but is now shipped.

If it goes ok then i will be getting some more vtc's ready for the next dna mod.

I got my LG 20AMP ones from FT not that long ago (work great BTW) I have always loved those 3400mah pannies, super battery. I got mine from FT as well Roscopecotrain

Yeah nee3ded some for my zmax for work, should get a lot longer run time. If they are that good i will get 2 more for the vtr.

I ordered a pair but after reading up on new shipping option I thought they may not get through and wasn't that much cheaper really.

Ordered 4 vtc3s that done me proud few months now, but vtc5s last a substantial amount longer. At work that doesn't matter as just switch them...pain if out and about though. Wish I knew for sure that my vtc3s were genuine, but no rumours in forum last I looked.

Got a pair of pannies in my bike lights last ages..mine are Torchy rewapped though and don't fit in nemesis unfortunately.

Take a ridiculous amount of time to charge mind lol.

They do take a long time, but they have got to push 3400mah into them so it`s understandable

I bought 6 VTC5 batterys from ecoluxshop on ebay not a bad price i use them in my mechs but really glad to know mine aren't fakes paid £14.99 for 2 with + £1.49 postage & packaging,Thanks for the information much appreciated

I use ecoluxshop as well for my vtc5's. Got 2 of them and went for free delivery. They arrived recorded delivery and they had put one of those plastic protective carry cases in for free as well.
They didn't put the batteries in the case for posting mind you ??? just put the case in the bag with the loose batteries.
Everything was ok though, good ebay shop.

Bit odd. Must of been in lazy mood.
Mine came in case.
Good case too, stronger than others I've got.

Im using them from now on, genuine batteries, good prices, free posting and a protective case thrown in, literally.
